Over 1/3 of child sexual abuse involves a family member. For a lot of children this is one of their only opportunities to let someone know and this is specifically why you're asked to leave the room and you're weird as fuck for saying no.

I took my 11 year old to her checkup this morning and the nurse asked me to step out of the room for a moment. I politely declined and she said, "It's just for a moment." And I told her, "No thank you, given all the stories about children being abused my husband and I decided to never leave our children alone with anyone, even medical providers. Anything you need to do or say you can do with me in the room." She looked all miffed and just left, no idea what her plan was but she didn't feel the need to continue it with me present and that makes me even more suspicious?? When she left my daughter thanked me for not leaving, she's already shy about the doctor, her eyes got so wide when the lady asked me to leave.

Havent played Marathon in 2 weeks, while I waited for updates. Jumped in for a few rounds of Marathon today to try the new patch. And logged off.... I think Hunt spoiled me. Badly. I figured out: - I dont like looting around for specific gear/items - I dont like managing my vault/backup - I dont like running contract missions - I dont like relying on gear or my teammates setups - I dont like forced wipes Hunt is that "extraction lite" I didnt know I needed. Less focus on gear/upgrades and more about the pvp --pushing teams into 1 or 2 points on the map. Perfect amount of tension/risk. The maps and atmosphere are crafted so thoughtfully to up the tension of making noise/tracking your enemies. Or tricking them with sound plays and traps You can save loadouts and favorites, making reupping for your next run incredibly fast, seconds really. Any gun can 1 shot to the head and everything else kills in like 2 making "meta" less of a thing. you can find good success with most loadouts. it rewards creativity and allows you to carry a 1 v 3 situation far easier And for new players you get 2 tutorials and a shooting range. You have pretty much everything unlocked from the start and need only like 10-20 hours to get some specific traits unlocked. No forced wipes, you just prestige when you feel like it. Im not saying Marathon is awful. I think it will get to a better spot with time too. I really love the sci-fi theme, the lore, the world design, the movement and gunplay. But almost wish this was an arena/BR game instead of a hardcore extraction game.

As someone who is nearing latter part of their life with older friends I am here to tell you yr children will by & large not be part of your day to day lives. They will be living their own lives. Your friends will be there day to day & your childless friends will be amongst them.

Friend of mine is 35 years old, married and doesn’t want kids. His household income is roughly $300k/yearly and his house is nearly paid off. They invest a good portion of their income for retirement, take multiple yearly vacations and live a nice life. I think people like this are going to regret not having kids in their future. One day when he’s old all he will have to look back on is the random stuff he bought and wasted money on. Instead of putting that money towards having kids and building a family he’s choosing consumerism. This just seems so wasteful and boring to me.

The breakfasts are not free. They are paid for by taxes - mostly on parents who feed their own kids. Most of these 10,000 children would have had a perfectly healthy breakfast at home without these clubs. This isn't about helping the poorest kids, it's the state taking over the basic job of parenting.
