I really think people are missing what is going on here. The US is turning into a 3rd world country with millions in relative poverty while the economy grows and marches on. Here's what people need to recognize, if almost 40-50% of the NYC electorate, for example, are immigrants who just arrived, what do you expect but for them to vote to take away money from those whose families have been here for generations. It is so obvious. This is what is happening. Are you on the side of the socialists who want recent immigrants to effect a redistribution of wealth policy? Or are you on the side of putting in place some sort of property rights. I am not against immigrants or anything like that. What I am against is immigrants overwhelming the system, demanding goods and services, pressuring our health care and social service safety net to such an extent that it becomes untenable, and then further demanding that the long-existing populace pay for it. I think Americans need to accept that national borders are dissolving. This means that millions of recent immigrants are now living in our cities and towns. IMHO, no problem, but I do not support a redistribution of my wealth so that these recent immigrants and I live at or near the same standard of living. I want to defend my privilege vigorously and unapologetically.

@MelMattison1 Illegal AND legal immergration directly cause demographic change. Why did California become so liberal? It's because it's overwhelming Mexican and the politics of that state are closer to Mexico. Demographic change happening in every US state.
