@Enoch77777777 @PotluckLauren My question was - What does Jesus being the second Adam have to do with whether the creation was a set of 24hr days, or a set of lengthy timeframes?

@TruthCop1717 @PotluckLauren The Creation Day is not a 24 hour literal day. It's Like a literal Day. It is a span of time that has a beginning and an end.

While I appreciate the attempts to find common ground with the old earthers out there, the Bible says it was evening and morning for each day to show us that this is a 24 hour period. Not figurative, but literal. Genesis is a historical narrative. It’s important that as Christians we choose to believe God’s word.

I disagree with you obviously. You disregard the fact Moses clearly states that Adam was made before the Herbs. I'm not here to convince you one way or the other as if I could. Mind you. Truth is all the matters. John 5:17New American Standard Bible 17 But He answered them, “My Father [a]is working until now, and I Myself am working.”

One of the most important things fathers can do is fill their home with great content. The Word of God. Biblical teaching. Psalm singing. Great books (Narnia, LOTR, etc). Great podcasts, audiobooks. Prayer. (This also means guarding against the media machine’s pig slop)

@Eric_Conn • Filling your home with delusional writings from mad men is not a good way to raise your children. You are guaranteed that freedom, in the United States, but it’s a poor way to be a father. •

@D_Preacher_1 I grew up believing i was a believer although I had never lived like one. I became a reborn true believer when i was directly confronted by God (like Saul/Paul).

@SABERTOW @JCRyle Wrong. We are to preach the gospel to EVERYONE, everywhere. (Acts 1:8, Rom 10:17) We just have to understand that we cannot force anyone to be saved. That is God's work.

The second Adam is mentioned in Genesis 1:27. The he that is made into His Image. The first Adam is mentioned in Genesis 2, created on the Third Creation Day Before the Herbs. A Creation Day is a Parable. It is Like a Literal Day. How's that? It has a Beginning and an End. That's it. If you care to understand more, perhaps you should see what Elijah has to say. voiceofelijah.org/online-library…

@Enoch77777777 @PotluckLauren Jesus is the second Adam - the perfect Adam - meaning that those who are reborn by the Spirit are His descendants, and no longer sinful descendants of Adam who failed to live by God's word. But what does that have to with what Lauren said?

So you're an authority on this? What was Paul talking about here: 1 Corinthians 15:45-49 New American Standard Bible 45 So also it is written: “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” The last Adam was a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second Man is from heaven. 48 As is the earthy one, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly One, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly. Are you even aware Moses mentions a first Adam and a second Adam in Genesis?

@CherylSchatz @sola_chad No, his brothers sold him. But God knew that it would happen, and had a plan to make it a blessing, and not just a burden. We all will suffer for God's sake, but not as punishment or penalty, but for purpose. (Rom 8:28-39).

@SteveFordmph @An_Misanthrope @JoshuaTCharles @Joseph_Spurgeon 1) Peter was NOT the "head of the church". 2) Even if he was, it gives NO concurrence to the inception of papal authority. You are sticking with the heretical catholic church, NOT Christ and the Apostles. Do some real intelligent research.

I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but Reformed Protestants do not believe that the Protestant Reformation was the start of the church. We trace our lineage back through the Protestant Reformation, through the Middle Ages, into the early church, into the Bible, and we own all of that. So Saint Patrick belongs to the Protestants, as does Augustine, John Chrysostom, and all the rest of the saints. The Protestant Reformation was not the start of a new church. It was an attempt to purify and reform the church and move it away from the abuses of the papacy and its money-hungry, power-hungry twisting of the faith that was delivered once for all to the saints.

@TruthCop1717 @grcastleberry Scripture actually does not say that God must *first* change your heart, or else we wouldn't be having this debate. Ezekiel 36:26 doesn't prove regeneration preceding faith, but I think it actually argues the opposite. Verse 25 says God will spiritually cleanse them first.

In order to believe the gospel, every lost person must be delivered from the "power of Satan." This requires a supernatural work of God. No amount of persuasiveness on the part of the evangelist will win the sinner to Christ. The sinner must have his eyes opened by the Spirit.

@pcjohn316 @CadenJCooper @grcastleberry What God tells you to do is NOT an affirmation of what you are able to do. It is about what you will either be commended for - if you are/will be saved, or what you will be condemned for if you are never saved. By God, not yourself. It is NOT about free will. It does NOT exist.

@TomBuck Scripture is very clear that every role of leadership was only for men. Men were to represent God on earth. (1 Cor 11:7). Not one of the often vaunted women in scripture was anointed/appointed by God to lead. Women are just as important, but in different roles and purposes.

@CadenJCooper @grcastleberry Scripture also says that God must first change your heart (Ezek 36:26), and that it is impossible to be saved unless God calls you (John 6:44, Eph 2:3-10). We cannot choose Him unless He first chooses us.

@grcastleberry I think you may have misunderstood my question. I know that Satan has blinded the minds of the unbelievers. The gospel message is "veiled" to those who are perishing. But 2 Corinthians 3:14-17 says when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Not the other way around.

@BestofSandoval1 @TomBuck Teaching is a straightforward explanation of a subject or passage. Preaching is a multi-directional explanation of a passage or subject in a way that enlightens, encourages and empowers the congregation to worship and sanctification.
