@bmcglothlin10 @NbaWoody If Pacers had gotten the #1 pick in the draft, that woulda been a guaranteed $13M next year. They could scrape up another $7M, and Mathurin would be worth it (a top 4 pick woulda likely been the main 2nd unit scorer but Pacers didn't get 1, so why not Mathurin again?).

Why so many Caleb Wilson Jermaine O'Neil comps? Jermaine was a a great low-post player, but he wasn't springy and fast like Caleb. Not a good comp at all other than they are both about 6'10" and slender.....

@outletpassing Winning follows Cam Boozer like a shadow and he dominates at every level he's played. Strong as a bull, agile, elite low-post scorer who also is a damn good 3-point shooter. He's a way better athlete than NBA superstars Jikic and Doncic. He'll be a great NBA player.

The conversation around Boozer is annoying because he is an elite *endurance* athlete but most peoples' perception of athleticism is run-and-jump explosiveness. Boozer carries a 99th percentile offensive load at 6'9 250lbs and plays 38+ minutes like it's nothing. That's insane.
Basketball University@UofBasketball

Cam Boozer may not be the most vertically explosive, but his first step, balance, strength, & movement efficiency are excellent. Can shoot, has elite feel, touch, & decision making, a winner at every level, and all-time great advanced metrics. Superstar.

@iam_johnw Boozer's time in this drill was faster than Caleb Wilson's. The problem is folks mistake Cam's smooth movements as being slow movements. No one is saying a word about Wilson's performance in this drill being a red flag. Yet he was slower doing it than Cam. Asinine.

@AKRileyy5 @SuspendedOhtanl I'll never understand how Tyrese can consistently shoot the ball straight with his left thumb flick (yet he does). But it does seem to give his shot a power boost, as it looks effortless when he's taking 35-footers & is barely using his legs.

@Sam_Vecenie The whole "Boozer's lack of athleticism won't translate" line is idiotic. He dominates at every level and winning follows him around like a shadow. He's so skilled and smooth that it just LOOKS like he's not moving quickly or in any special sorta way.

The Bucks owe Myles Turner $83.6 million over the next three seasons: 2026-27: $26.6 million 2027-28: $27.9 million 2028-29: $29.1 million (player option) Factoring in Milwaukee will also pay $22.5 million annually due to stretching Damian Lillard’s salary, a massive overpay.

@AlexGoldenNBA Kevin Pritchard gave the best Pacers PR response, but the real acknowledgement should be: We took too big a risk with this trade because we could only win it if we got a 1-4 pick, and since we didn't, we WAY overpaid for Zubac and clearly lost the trade.

@Tom18369195 @ayayayvio @esidery It's way too early to say the 2029 FR pick will be a dud. That class could be just as stacked as this year's--and headlined by guys who are currently juniors in HS.

@TruthMa08903007 @ayayayvio @esidery Mathurin was gone anyway! And 2029 is gonna be a dud of a FR pick. We basically traded Acuff for Zu. We need to fill out our second unit but we were going to have to do that anyway.

The Pacers are the first team in NBA history to finish a season with less than 20 wins and not have a first-round pick to draft afterwards. Indiana must win a title now with Ivica Zubac in their current roster window to avoid this being viewed as a historically bad trade.

Before people jump to how “stupid” they think the trade is now Show me what centers they could have realistically traded the fifth pick for that would be better than Zu I'll wait

@ayayayvio @esidery Pacers gave up much more than just the 5th pick for Zubac. They also gave up Mathurin, a 2029 1st round pick & a 2028 2nd rounder. Folks saying the Pacers still didn't lose the trade are delusional. Had to get & keep a top 4 pick for the trade to be a winner.

@esidery I'm pissed about the Kings falling to the 7th pick, but could always be worse. 5th pick in the draft for Zubac is crazy

@WrubleBacon @TheDestinAdams The Pacers gave a lot up for Zubac beyond next year's 1st round pick. So this isn't a "could we have drafted someone better than Zubac w/the 5 pick?" question when evaluating who won the trade. Pacers clearly lost the trade by not getting a top 4 pick.

@mnewmanls @Jjoeyj83 @threescorethor @esidery @Hali may not be as explosive as he was (though he might--the younger, the better, w/Achilles tears), but he'll keep getting more crafty every year just like he always has. So I expect he'll end up better overall than he was in 2025 (if not next year, then the following year).

If the Pacers win the lottery tomorrow, this would be their rotation next season: Starters: Tyrese Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, AJ Dybantsa, Pascal Siakam, Ivica Zubac Bench: TJ McConnell, Aaron Nesmith, Jarace Walker, Obi Toppin, Jay Huff An instant Finals threat for years.

@GoodmanHoops You can't have a top 5 most likeable list that excludes Tyrese Haliburton. He's #1 & it ain't close. A smaller Magic Johnson who can shoot. @Hali makes watching the game more fun whether you're rooting for or against him, as he loves the Heel role.
