“But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment... he that judgeth me is the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 4:3–4 “There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy... who art thou that judgest another?” James 4:12 “Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth.” Romans 14:4 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son.” John 5:22 “And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.” John 5:27 “The LORD shall judge the people... judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness.” Psalm 7:8 “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.” Isaiah 33:22

The Bible demonstrates that apostasy can occur at the individual, congregational, or national level, with faithful individuals often remaining even as the larger covenant body falls away, as seen with Lot in Sodom. In Paul's life he constantly fought against false teachings... Which is the fertile soil of institutional apostasy. Following the deaths of Christ's Apostles, the Church gradually experienced this same pattern: the loss of the Apostles ended the unique, divinely authorized leadership that governed the universal Church, preserved doctrine, exercised priesthood keys, and established successors with the same authority. Not that people quit having faith... They drifted from truth and started having faith false teachings... Eg. Trinity, Creation Ex Nihilo, etc. While many sincere Christians continued to "follow" Christ the best they could without authority to keep the "Church" on track... and while they preserved manuscripts and some important truths, the institutional Church became increasingly fragmented, disputed doctrine, and lost the original apostolic authority and organization established by Jesus Christ. "The Great Apostasy" was not the disappearance of all believers or people doing the the best they could in the absence of authority... not complete loss of all truth, but the loss of Christ's authorized Church in its original, divinely established form, making a Restoration necessary rather than merely a reformation.

Unfortunately I haven't been online much to pay X any mind. My PC ran into the blue screen of death and I've been spending the last 3 days building a new one... I don't run typical PCs... So this took a lot of focus. I was up till 3am last night just getting it into my office and out of the wife's way in the living room. It's still only at 70% overall... But my work environment is back to 95%. Good so I don't lose another day at work. So... Life. I'm sure I'll be back around to our convo some time this weekend.

If the Book of Mormon is false, why arent there: - internal contradictions - contradictions with the bible - led away from God by reading it - contradictory archeology - con behavior from Joseph Smith - proven anachronisms - Joseph’s writing "fingerprints" #bookofmormon #jesus

No, that framing overstates it. The Sun-Times piece cites specific cases (including the recent Christofferson guilty plea) and notes public records show misconduct occurs among LDS members and leaders. True—tragic incidents happen, as in every large faith group and institution. But "significant problem" among LDS clergy lacks comparative data showing elevated rates. Lay bishops serve short terms under strict worthiness standards. BSA troop data (LDS units ~20-30% of total) found them linked to only ~5% of abuse cases—substantially lower than expected. Broader clergy abuse studies highlight bigger documented issues in Catholic and some Protestant settings. Every case demands accountability and reporting. Context prevents misleading narratives.

@Exmo2EO Prelest is as fake as the Trinity and Creation Ex Nihilo. It was invented to force reliance on fake bishops. This isn't the burn you think it is. Eek...

Amen. If LDS was really a restoration of Christ’s Church, there would be much more of this and much less “burning in your bosom”, “pray if it’s true”, “still small voice” talk. This is what the early Church believed. And it’s all available for reading. Can you really claim to know the Church has been restored if you haven’t read the words written by direct disciples of the Apostles? Their writings are easily accessible online (for example: orthodoxchurchfathers.com/fathers/) Try starting with: Clement of Rome (late 1st Century) - had seen Peter and Paul Ignatius of Antioch (35 AD ~ 107 AD) - John’s disciple and successor to Peter Polycarp of Smyrna (69 AD - 155 AD) - John’s disciple

@purpl3thylacin3 @TribeRuffner @Lets_Talk_HC @marcado_razon Apostasy can be at an individual, church, or nation level. An example would be Sodom and Gomorrah. Not all individuals fell into Apostasy... Eg. Lot I'll reply later today further. What you wrote while not wholly inaccurate, leaves important details out. Accuracy matters.

@TryinDaily @TribeRuffner @Lets_Talk_HC @marcado_razon a widespread falling away from the gospel after the deaths of Jesus Christ and His original Apostles. This led to, among other things, the withdrawal of priesthood authority granted the apostles by Christ. This is basically what I said earlier.

@TryinDaily @TribeRuffner @Lets_Talk_HC @marcado_razon Btw, stating what you think someone’s position is and then asking for clarification or correction if necessary, for the purpose of being able to adequately steelman their position, is by definition intellectually honest. Learn how to use a term before using it on X.

@TryinDaily @TribeRuffner @Lets_Talk_HC @marcado_razon Again, I’ve given you my understanding of your position on apostasy and asked for you to clarify/correct so that I can actually engage with you. You’re too cowardly and immature to engage. You look like a child. “Truth, justice, honor.” You’re a joke.

A- every denomination claims authority to define who and what Jesus is. LDS base our definition on what Apostles and Prophets establish as doctrine. RCC bases it on a group of dudes they think have some authority that they can't prove. Peter never was Pope... and Clement never had Apostolic Authority. B- Christ is the only Rock. Peter was just the head Apostle... Who never passed this authority on.

A - Mormons, JWs, and Muhammed all claim authority to define who and what Jesus is. Mormons define Jesus as a Polytheist and Polygamist, which is arguably worse. D&C 132 even makes Jesus the AUTHOR of polygamy. B - Christ is the Rock of the Catholic Church. He named Peter as a Rock to represent Him : "He who hears you, hears Me" Sorry, I don't know what your other assertions are talking about.

Mormons are not Christians. Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christians. Seventh-Day Adventists are not Christians. People who don’t follow the Bible are not Christians.

No. I can't... Joseph breaks your contrived "pattern". A- Muhammad and JW don't believe Jesus Christ is God. Yawn. You're so pedantic. B- Chris never said humans wouldnt err. B1. Gates are defensive ... They don't attack. B2. Christ holds the keys to Hades. B3. Christ not Peter is the Rock... Christ's eternal and infinite Atonement. ... Christ never said what you want him to have said. You're not reading the text... You're reading into the text... Again. ... The rest is mindless trudgery 100% irrelevant.

How is the LdS claim any more legit than all the others that claimed to be God's restoration ? Muhammed Jehovah Witnesses Can you see the pattern in history ? : 33 A.D. Catholics: God's Church will never be prevailed against 1054 Constantinople : "We are the true Church" 1517 Lutherans: "We are God's restored truth" 1536 Calvinists: "We are God's restored truth" 1609 Baptists: "We are God's restored truth" 1830 Mormons: "We are God's restored truth" 1863 7th Day Adventists: "We are God's restored truth" 1870 Jehovahs Witnesses: "We are God's restored truth" Future Anti-Christs: "We are God's restored truth"

I'm not one to follow deflecting gishgalop. So let's remain on topic... The Articles of Faith are scripture... Created and canonized by Living Apostles/Prophets. Part of their prerogative... Apostles and Prophets get to create new Scripture. Bishops... Not so much. Thus their injection of things not found in scripture isn't binding on good upstanding Christians. "homoousios" and the later brain damage piled on top of this single word... Which distances humans from God... is abominable. The Bible doesn't teach such heracy. "I AM" ... Doesn't help you. John 1:1 doesn't help you ... "I and my Father are one" doesn't help you... Because that Oneness clearly extends to everyone... We can all be part of that Oneness... Or at least Christ taught so... But maybe you don't believe Christ.

What specifically do you think is not in the Bible ? ... and how does it compare to the Mormon Creed that about the New Jerusalem in America ? See # 10 of the LdS Articles of Faith creed : "10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent"

@TryinDaily @TribeRuffner @Lets_Talk_HC @marcado_razon I literally said I’ll assume your position, gave you my understanding of your position, and asked you for clarification and correction if necessary. By definition, this is intellectual honesty. NGL it seems like you’re just scared to actually engage.
