@justalexoki It wasn’t a real Monet. It was a photo of a real Monet. Much diminished, as such, from an actual painting. So the criticisms have some validity. But it was a great experiment. I didn’t buy in because I’m far from an expert. But I think I would have been sucked in.

@OrevaZSN because right now people are starving and you personally could go fly out and hand them food but you are not. once you start expanding that direction of ethics you can really go far

Why are ethical questions always like, ‘Is it ethical to steal bread to feed your starving family?’ and not, ‘Is it ethical to hoard bread while families are starving?

Panel with @BretWeinstein @Lauren_Southern today was a hoot. Subject: should we get rid of podcasts? My position: yes, by which I mean, we should definitely get rid of the current podcast media ecosystem, with all its warped and brain-melting incentives, disregard of any factual standards whatsoever, whirlwind of kook mysticism claptrap, and constant hysteria-fomenting. All of which gets rewarded richly by the algorithm. There is no penalty to be paid for spewing utter bullshit. That’s what I argue we “get rid of,” not by any punitive government action, but via social mores that somehow impose a reputational penalty for bullshit-peddling. I thought that because Bret happened to be on the panel, I would support my argument by citing some specific examples from his recent podcast oeuvre. Namely: his “game theoretical” postulation that Jeffrey Epstein is alive, as well as his affirmation that the Epstein Files prove incontrovertibly that scores of children were not just raped and trafficked, but “eaten.” Bret apparently took this to be an “ambush,” as he later characterized it to me. I was also chastised on stage for being overly “vituperative,” and advised that I should try being “nicer.” Which I declined 😂 Chatting with Bret after the panel, he was still huffy and sour. I offered that if he wanted to continue the conversation, in any format he wished (public or private), I would be more than happy to do so, as a gesture of good faith. He then claimed he figured out what my MO was all along: to “ride his coattails,” and jockey to get on his podcast. (I honestly couldn’t give less of a shit about appearing on his podcast.) When I told him this was obviously not my goal, he said: “I’m not stupid, Michael.” So anyway, it was fun times. 😂 I think the video should be available somewhere

I was thinking whether the Essendon team of 2000 could beat the current Brisbane team. My analysis says Essendon of 2000 would win by about a goal. Why so close? Because most of the Essendon players are in their 50’s.

@PiesWrldd ‘You’re witnessing history that may never be repeated in your lifetime….’ THIS is the quibble. Everyone likes him. He’s done very well. But that kind of hyperbole is just overblown. Have him on the banner. Chair him off if you want. That’d be cool.

The media is absolutely milking the engagement on this Pendlebury record. Why do you all care so much about what Collingwood are doing for it? You’re witnessing history that may never be repeated in your lifetime and you’re just bitching about it.

Her name is Lorna Hajdini. She is 37 years old. Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase in New York. One of the most powerful banks in the world. She has worked there for over 14 years. In March 2024, an Indian origin banker named Chirayu Rana joined her team as a Senior Vice President. He was married. He had worked hard to get there. Within weeks, according to a civil lawsuit filed in court, she allegedly began using her position to pressure him into a sexual relationship. When he said no, she allegedly told him “If you do not fk me soon, I am going to ruin you. Never forget, I fking own you.” She allegedly showed up uninvited at his home. When he refused, she said “Do you want to get promoted at year end or not. Do you want a future at JPMorgan. I do not know why you are fighting this.” She made racist remarks about his Indian origin, calling him her little brown boy. She made insulting remarks about his wife, saying “I bet your little Asian, fish head, wife does not have these.” She allegedly told him “You really think management wants some Brown boy Indian leading Originations. If you do not fk my brains out tonight, I am going to sabotage your promotion.” The complaint further alleges she drugged him with Rohypnol before engaging in sexual acts without his consent. He says he pleaded for her to stop. Two witnesses in the complaint support parts of his account. He stayed silent for months out of fear. When he finally filed a formal complaint with JPMorgan in May 2025, he was placed on leave within days. His work access was cut. He received threatening messages referencing his immigration status. When he looked for other jobs, his former colleagues allegedly gave damaging references that blocked every opportunity. He has been diagnosed with PTSD. JPMorgan investigated internally and said it found no merit to his claims. The bank said he refused to cooperate with their investigation. Hajdini’s legal team said she categorically denies every allegation and was never even at the location where the alleged assault took place. The New York Post has also reported that Hajdini may not have had direct authority over his salary or promotion given their separate reporting structures at the bank. The lawsuit was initially filed anonymously and has since been withdrawn for corrections before refiling. No criminal charges have been filed. All allegations are unproven and before a civil court. Chirayu Rana is seeking damages for lost earnings, emotional distress and reputational harm. The case is ongoing. Follow for real stories India never makes headlines about.

A community note has been added to this post suggesting the lawsuit is a fabrication. Here is what this account stands by. Every fact in that post was sourced directly from a civil lawsuit filed in the New York County Supreme Court and reported by established publications including the New York Post and IBTimes. The post clearly stated the lawsuit was initially filed anonymously and has since been withdrawn for corrections before refiling. No criminal charges have been filed. All allegations are unproven and before a civil court. This account presented verified court documents as allegations. Not as proven facts. The lawsuit withdrawal and refiling is a procedural matter. Civil lawsuits are routinely withdrawn and refiled with corrections. That does not make the allegations fabricated. Chirayu Rana is a real person. The lawsuit is real. The quotes are from a real court filing. The case is ongoing. This account will continue monitoring developments and will update if material facts change. We presented what was filed. The court will decide what is true.

@deeceepee80 I actually think the golden number thing (if true) is too much. Cornes was mentored by Mark Williams, who was raised by Fos Williams. Both were very hard nosed team first guys. Scheduling games played around a personal stat is an anathema to that mindset. You disagree. No prob

@TupeloFortitud Who decides what degree of recognition he deserves and when it’s ’too much’? Cos no matter what Pies do or don’t do, oppo fans will bitch and moan about it. Clearly forgetting the fuss (rightfully) that was made over Brent Harvey….

@deeceepee80 Pendlebury is a great player, and an exemplary person it seems. Of course he deserves recognition. There is a matter of degree. Beyond a certain point it’s just way too much. But you’re a Collingwood supporter and I’m not. So enjoy the special moment when it comes.

The guy is about to break a record which is an extremely rare occurrence in our game - of course focus will be on him! It’s an industry where debates centre around who is the best player in the comp - not the best team in the comp. People are acting like this is a surprise to them that someone about to break the all-time games record has the spotlight on him and how they manage that event. Talk about pearl-clutching…

@deeceepee80 Cornes arguably could be called a ‘shock jock’. He does play the engagement game. Which is part of his job after all. But he’s not wrong to question this monomaniacal focus on one man in a team sport. I mean what’s next? A special golden number? Joking. They’d never do that

Seems like criticism to me. Gerard and Garry actually don’t want to engage in a gutter tit-for-tat click-bait argument with a shock jock. They said enough without having to name Cornes. If being ‘ballsy’ is repeatedly being outraged at nothing then it’s not something to hang your hat on.

@jacobpafc You’re saying it’s not enough. And I agree. We should rename Australia as ‘Collingwood’. And ‘Planet Earth’ as ‘Planet Scott Pendlebury’. It still wouldn’t be enough, but it would be better.
