I almost fell off the trail into a ravine to get this @Adobe event info in your hands, so please give it a watch. I'll be presenting at 2 different events in Feb - so much fun to talk about!

The reasons they're going to ergonomic hell go on and on: * Driving aggressively = you'll invariably turn on the steering wheel heater * The HVAC controls are not only capacitative, but aren't even BACKLIT. The mental & attentive load it takes to change the temperature is equivalent to picking up my phone & angrily replying to a youtube comment while driving * There is no volume knob. When the stereo suddenly comes on when you're backing up, your only choice is to stop backing up so that you can see the control to turn the stereo down

@TurboDad @thecyberfam I was going to buy the new R in 2020 or 2021 when it was released, but when I saw the interface, I realized they'd moved to a personally incompatible concept. It just wasn't going to work for me, and I don't want to stroke something to turn on a light. 🤣

I wish they had. I think the lack of a manual transmission was a vote of no confidence in modern driver ability. But even with an automatic the V8 R is an absolute pleasure to drive once you turn off the traction control. The way it gracefully drifts through corners easily sliding out then tucking back in reminds me of how the early 70s Datsun Z cars handled, except with a massive upgrade in torque. So much fun

@livioq @LuizaJarovsky I know - but with the human drivel, I always feel like I have a bad writer I can point at. When I fall for reading AI crap, I'm like, "yeah...yeah that was on me"

@Renaissance_Man @thecyberfam The F-type is one of the most beautiful vehicles inside & out in the last 2 decades. Making a stickshift version with the V8 would have been complete sublime perfection

@livioq @LuizaJarovsky I'm sure you've been reading some blog post that you're hoping will be "insightful" when suddenly you realize it's AI slop and you got hoodwinked. I fricking hate that.

@thecyberfam Trying to understand what you don't like about this. For someone who actually drives, a volume knob, rocker switches for climate, all of which you can operate while the vehicle is in motion.

@RealBSP3 @thecyberfam The 2024 GTI I have right now, by contrast, has the absolute worst. The driving experience is SUBLIME but the capacitative buttons and screen overload is awful. I really feel like people who don't drive designed it, which is awful for a car whose whole purpose is DRIVING FUN

@thecyberfam You just went and searched for the worst dash. 🤣 My 2019 GTI had the best screen integration I've ever seen, but I can't find a picture of it on the web; plenty of shots, but none matched mine. I'm not sure what's up with that. I just gave up searching.

@elonmusk This is why I mountain bike while tech podcasting. I'm literally the only person in the world who does this, your burliest AI nonsense still can't make a version of me that looks remotely real. It's my Will-smith's-spaghetti.

@michael_kove @IAmAaronWill My feed isn't so bad. Sure, people are "beyond excited" at things I know they're not excited about, but in a lot of cases that comes down to that they don't know how else to self-promote in their own voice.

This is possibly the worst the algo has ever been. There's no sense of community anymore. Value content does nothing. Stories do nothing. The content required to grow personal brands no longer do anything. AI slop leeches all the engagement and pushes genuine content away.

@michael_kove @IAmAaronWill For me though, Linkedin is at least a bunch of real people that (in many cases) I've met at conferences or who work in the same industry. I can post something real and get real people to write back.

@IAmAaronWill This has so often already been the case though since the beginning. It's actually what makes Reddit so compelling sometimes, because you can get engagement without being a celebrity. It's always been the case that Twitter requires near-celebrity status for engagement.

@matvelloso To me, the most tone-deaf part of it was the amount of backlash folks already had to being too-digitally-addicted, the idea of going through a work day with goggles on was just the worst imaginable idea.

People giving Meta a hard time about this but honestly? Meta Quest is a great product. Probably the most successful VR product on the market. VR is hard. Still, far more reasonable than Microsoft Teams spending hundreds of engineers to put avatars on the product so you could have a meeting with your manager while looking like a Lego. That was truly mind-boggling.

@YoungbloodJoe I use Edge daily as my work browser. ctrl+v is the link + title in HTML form, and shift+ctrl+v just pastes the link only.

TIL: That Microsoft's Edge Browser refuses to copy+paste the URL from the URL bar and only pastes the meta title. I was trying to use Edge more and wanted to copy+paste a URL for a client and it refused to do it. There is no setting in Edge to change this and Microsoft's own AI answers didn't know what to say. So I am now using Edge about 98% less.

@TheCoolestCool It's still wild that in so many cases, my reddit posts ABOUT the blog post I just wrote rank higher and are more-cited than the blog post itself.

If Reddit ranks above you, check the publish date. In 62% of cases we reviewed, the top thread was 2+ years old. It’s not freshness. It’s alignment. Google trusts pages that: • match conversational intent • answer follow-up questions • include multiple perspectives Quick win: Add an FAQ section built from actual subreddit questions. Not SEO-generated ones. Real phrasing. Real objections. Match the conversation, not just the keyword. foundationinc.co/lab/reddit-b2b…

@CyrusShepard Ah, customers. With the 30-year arms race that's already been going on between bots of all shapes and human-curated, relevant content, assuming that customer-owned AI on one side of that arms race is going to counter the other effectively is charmingly naive.

@JacobCEdmunds The thing that concerns me is the compute cost of all this spam mitigation. It's like the comparison of a $7M Patriot PAC-3 interceptor shooting down a $36k Shahed-136: how much is it costing to intercept the spam with all that Grok Compute?
