@YOWhockey @karl_kapri no, the reverse sweep can only be sens, in part because the wild actually have won a game in their series, unlike the sens have!

my conspiracy theory is marc andre fleury would’ve unretired long ago if it hadn’t been for the 24-25 farewell tour which got way out of hand and now he’s too embarrassed to be seen coming back

Put another way: The second place team in the Metro (PIT) gets a lower-ranked opponent than the division winner (CAR) in Round 1.

@AN1MOCS2 obviously valve doesn't agree otherwise they would have changed the way majors slots were handed out at any point of time in the past 14 years.

@Tuxmux The Major is the biggest two tournaments of the year and meant to be a celebration of the best teams in the world The Asia and Americas regions don't reflect that

@clairernak because the C was never really his if we think about it. It was always Matthews’ C, like there was promo material shot for the next season with the C on his jersey when the security guard incident happened. It felt less like a stripping like Thornton in SJ did bc of that.

@razlol likely 2x bo3 UBR1 day 1, 2x bo3 LBR1/UBF, then bo5s for LBF/finals on day 3 / 4, but also maybe just all bo5 for that then if riot doesn't get scared of how the 2x bo5 days went for this tournament?

BAAAAAANG CBLOL gets an extra slot which is very much deserved, have wanted it since split 3 last year. I’d say CBLOL are slightly better than LCP and the Bo1 at worlds between VKS & TSW wasn’t the best showing of it. Whoever gets the seed #2 spot be it Furia, Loud, VKS, Red Canids, LOS ect I think will show competitive games.

You can't call me coping here as I couldn't care less who won. But surely you can't have an Umpire from the USA call an international game with their own country in. 90% of sports around the world would never allow that, I'm not saying he was bias but it's morally wrong.

@parthenaan It’s a business, and the business will do what’s best for them. Now fans can vote with their fandom if they agree with what the org does, but it’s not a bad move to do this. I feel bad for the player who gets dropped, but it’s a part of the sport

@parthenaan I think esports fans are too “coddled” in terms of what they expect from roster changes. Team managers will do what they believe is best for the team to win. No one complains like this if someone is dropped in a tier 2 real sports league.

An organization’s relevance in esports is directly proportional to the connection between those who make decisions and the people that they serve including the players, staff, and fans. In that spirit, I’d like to take the time to talk about this change because I was the primary driver for it. It was an agonizing decision that I still have mixed emotions about. I'm excited to give Frankie an opportunity to build upon his incredible skill, but also I understand it puts Chris in an awful position and we'll do everything we reasonably can to make up for it. I don't know the proper forum for this yet (an interview, a stream, or a video) but in the next day or so, I'm going to address this decision and a few other questions that have been asked including: 1. Why does NRG have a league team? 2. What are the goals of this team? 3. Who are the people in charge? 4. What to expect this year?

In this moment, wild to think back to last June: Connor Hellebuyck 🇺🇸 was not one of the first six American players picked to the roster.

@TopDownHockey @JFreshHockey Is the 1 seed actually better than the 2 seed? If you get the 1 you avoid Sweden in the QF but if you get the 2 seed you avoid Finland in the SF. Not so certain I'd rather play well rested Finland than Sweden on the 2nd end of a B2B

TLDR? 🇺🇸 and 🇨🇦 both likely win tomorrow. If so, the privilege to avoid 🇸🇪 in QF comes down to who beats up their opponent harder. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch McDavid, Matthews, etc. face non-NHLers with Olympic gold medal stakes in how hard they beat them up.
Patrick Bacon@TopDownHockey

For the same reason that FIN's 11-0 rout of SVK was a big deal, the degree to which CAN and USA beat tomorrow's opponents (assuming they win) will be a huge deal. If both win in reg, the tie breaker is goals ±. Canada is currently +9, USA +7. (SVK is +2, so USA/CAN would be 1/2)
