This has been the most busted week for doing YouTube ever. I was sick with the cold/flu and lost my voice at the start of it, and then Ava's play began it's performances at the end of it. I streamed as much as I could but I just didn't have much energy or time. We did that nice Dungeoneer series. Everyone liked that. Yellow Flash can have this weekend.

@ScottMcCreaWest Conquest is the best sequel in my opinion but I love Escape for many reasons

Spent last night watching Escape from the Planet of the Apes; many consider this to be the best of the Apes sequels (I prefer Beneath), but it is fun in a TV-movie way. Very 70s; more nostalgia now than sci-fi. Eric Braeden and William Windom steal it; Dr. Hasslien is the hero.

@JonathanJColton Actually Spielberg's first choice for Quint was Sterling Hayden.

He was Siegel's first choice for Dirty Harry, Spielberg's first choice for Quint, and John Milius' first choice for the Judge Roy Bean. And as much I respect the heck out of Eastwood, Robert Shaw and Paul Newman - those directors were right - Marvin would've been best.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) is Peter Weir’s most audacious work..a film so committed to authenticity it becomes poetry. The sea itself becomes antagonist. Zimmer’s score howls. Criminally, unjustly underrated.

@BobaTalks A Green Lantern does not “step away” from his duties. Will power is what makes a Lantern work. If Hal is training a successor then he’s given up already and has no will power. The ring would’ve already left to find a worthy bearer. The ring chooses a new guy, not the quitter.

Am I the only one who thinks that this *might* not play out that way? One of the themes for Hal Jordan in the series is: “Our show is in a lot of ways about replacement - when should someone step aside and when is it time for the next person to take the reins? That push and pull between those two characters is really important” If Hal only gives over the ring when he's dying, that would be a lot less meaningful compared to what the showrunner was describing the series is going for. It'd be a more compelling arc for him to come to that decision on his own in contrast to where he starts the season. After decades as a 'Lantern Legend', he recognises it's ok to let John carry the mantle forward.
