FDR is the most overrated president in American history and it is not close. People treat him like a saint. The reality is he inherited a recession and turned it into the longest depression in the history of the developed world. Every other major economy on earth recovered faster than the United States did under FDR. Sit with that. We had the most resources, the most industry, the most capacity, and we recovered slower than countries that got bombed. Unemployment was still 19% in 1938. Six years into the New Deal. Six years of "bold experimentation" and one in five Americans still could not find work. Why? Because his policies were economically illiterate. The NIRA cartelized entire industries and made it illegal to lower prices during a deflationary collapse. He paid farmers to slaughter livestock and plow under crops while people stood in bread lines. He launched a war on business so aggressive that investment dried up because nobody knew what insane rule was coming next. Even his own Treasury Secretary, Henry Morgenthau, admitted in 1939 that they had spent enormous sums and "it does not work" and that unemployment was as high as when they started. Then in 1937 his policies triggered a second brutal crash so embarrassing the textbooks gave it its own polite little nickname, the "Roosevelt Recession," so they would not have to attach his name to the failure in the obvious way. A UCLA study in 2004 concluded the New Deal prolonged the Great Depression by roughly seven years. Seven years of extra suffering sold to you as heroism. So what actually saved the economy? Not the alphabet agencies. Not the fireside chats. A world war. Twelve million men shipped overseas and the entire planet's industrial competition reduced to rubble. That is the "recovery." That is the legacy. Strip away Pearl Harbor and FDR is a guy who took a bad recession and stretched it into a decade of misery with bad economics and a cult of personality. He is not ranked on results. He is ranked on the luck of being in the chair when Hitler invaded Poland. Greatest marketing job in the history of the presidency. Nothing more.

I went to In-N-Out and ordered a cheeseburger. The cashier, a calm young woman named Destiny, asked me a question I did not expect. "You want that Animal Style?" I paused. I did not know what this meant. But a samurai does not admit he does not know. So I answered with weight. "...Animal Style." "Cool. So that's mustard-grilled, extra spread, grilled onions, pickles. Yeah?" I understood now. This was a sacred permission. For one meal, I was being told to put down my manners at the door. To eat the way a beast eats, without shame. I had waited my whole life for someone to give me this order. "Yes," I said. "I will become the animal." Destiny did not blink. "...Okay. You want your fries Animal Style too?" I stopped. Even the potatoes? "The potatoes also become animals?" "I mean, they get cheese and sauce and grilled onions, so..." "Then yes. Let the potatoes abandon their restraint as well." "...Got it." She was the calmest woman I have ever met. "3x3, 4x4, or just the one?" I did not know these numbers, but I knew a challenge when I heard one. "How many must I face?" "It's, like, how many patties you want." "How many is the most honorable?" "...Four is a lot." "Then four. A warrior does not ask for fewer." She wrote it down without argument. A 4x4, Animal Style, with animal fries. She warned me once, kindly. "That's gonna be huge." I told her I was counting on it. It arrived. It was a tower. Cheese and sauce ran down my hands the moment I lifted it. There was no clean way to eat it. There was no dignified way. That was the entire point. I ate it like a beast. Both hands, no honor, grilled onion on my chin, and I have to be honest with you, it was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. For thirty years I have kept my manners at every table in the world. They handed me a burger and told me to be an animal, and I have never felt so free. So tell me, America. The whole country knows the secret menu. What else are you hiding in plain sight? And "Animal Style." Was I eating the animal, or finally becoming one?

Evangelical: Mormons believe they’re saved by works. Latter-day Saint: We believe we’re saved by grace through Jesus Christ. Evangelical: What about “after all we can do”? Latter-day Saint: The verse says, “It is by grace that we are saved.” Evangelical: Right. After all you can do. Latter-day Saint: Who is doing the saving in the verse? Evangelical: Grace. Latter-day Saint: And who does grace come from? Evangelical: Jesus. Latter-day Saint: So Jesus saves? Evangelical: Yes. Latter-day Saint: Then why do you keep saying we believe works save us? Evangelical: Because it says “after all we can do.” Latter-day Saint: Does it say we are saved by all we can do? Evangelical: No. Latter-day Saint: Does it say we are saved by grace? Evangelical: Yes. Latter-day Saint: Then why are you changing the subject? Evangelical: Because Mormons obey commandments. Latter-day Saint: Did Jesus tell people to obey commandments? Evangelical: Yes. Latter-day Saint: Did Jesus tell people to repent? Evangelical: Yes. Latter-day Saint: Did Jesus tell people to love their neighbors, forgive others, feed the poor, and follow Him? Evangelical: Yes. Latter-day Saint: So obeying Jesus means you’re trying to earn salvation? Evangelical: No. Latter-day Saint: Then why does it only become “works-based salvation” when Mormons do it? awkward silence

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Currently, 87,000 missionaries are serving around the world, but “in coming weeks, we will have the largest number of full-time missionaries in the Church’s history,” President Dallin H. Oaks (@OaksDallinH) told new mission leaders at a training seminar on Saturday, June 20. “You are called to lead missionaries at an historic time,” the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said. “Missionary work is soaring to new heights.” The increase is due to the first wave of 18-year-old sister missionaries beginning their service and to the addition of 55 new missions in July, bringing the total to 506. “What a group to lead,” he said. HOLY HOLY HOLY CRIES THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN FOR HAVE WE NOT COME TO THIS APPOINTED TIME? THERE IS ONE MORE THING TO SHARE , PUBLICLY OUT OF TRUTH OUT OF LOVE FOR THE HEAVENLY FATHERS SON AND HIS SERVANTS IN REGARDS TO TRUTH AND KEY WORDS REVEALING SUCH THINGS. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Dallin H. Oaks Dieter F. Uchtdorf D. Todd Christofferson Gary E. Stevenson Come Unto Christ David A. Bednar THE DEATH OF JOSEPH AND WHEN GOD SHALL SURELY VISIT HIS PEOPLE WAS RELATED TO 77 SCRIPTURES REMAINING TO BE BELIEVED IN BUT BEFORE I CAN SPEAK TRUTH TO THAT MATTER I SPEAK TRUTH TO HELP REMOVE LUCIFER FROM THE CHURCH. THE D AND C 3 1 The works, and the designs, and the purposes of God cannot be frustrated, neither can they come to naught. 2 For God doth not walk in crooked paths, neither doth he turn to the right hand nor to the left, neither doth he vary from that which he hath said, therefore his paths are straight, and his course is one eternal round. 3 Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men; SO TELL ME WITH TRUTH HOW DID JOSEPH SMITH TRANSLATE THE BOOK OF MOSES AND HIS BIBLE AND THE BOOK OF MORMON SPECIFICALLY GENESIS WHICH WAS THEN USED WITH BOOK OF MOSES CORRECT? SO IF THE BOOK OF MOSES WAS TRANSLATED WITH DIVINE SPIRITUAL TRANSLATION TO BE OF GOD REVEALING SUCH THINGS, AND NOW I REVEAL THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD THE GOD OF ABRAHAM AND WORSHIP IS ALWAYS THROUGH HIS SON THAT GOES FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD.... WHAT WOULD IT MEAN AS A REVELATION TO SAY NONE OF YOU ARE PROPHETS OF THE LORD BECAUSE IF YOU WERE YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN THE BOOK OF ABRAHAM CONTRADICTS THE LORD AND WAS NOW A REVELATION NOT FROM THE LORD NOR WORDS SPOKEN OF THE LORD BUT OF MY FREE SELF TO HELP YOU TELL THE TRUTH, WHICH IS THE GOSPEL . KEY WORDS GOD GOD GOD ALL JOSEPHS IN THE JST, IN THE BOOK OF MORMON, AND IN THE EARLY REVELATIONS HE RECEIVED BUT THE BOOK OF ABRAHAM YOU CLAIM TO TESTIFY HE TRANSLATED AND WROTE SWITCHED IT TO GODS? GODS ? FOLLOWED BY NOW WHY THE DISCOURSE SURROUNDING GODS WILL NOW MAKE MORE SENSE TO THE WORLD. JOSEPH SMITH DID NOT CONTRADICT THE LORD, HOLY HOLY HOLY SAYS I BUT NOT FOR MYSELF FOR THE INTELLIGENCE IN WHICH I HAVE LEARNED FROM STARTED WITH THE MOST HIGH WHO DEMANDS WORSHIP THROUGH IHS SON WHOS SON SERVANTS GLORIFY THE SON WITH THEIR LIFE, HOLY HOLY HOLY SAYS MYSELF FOR IF NOT FOR THE INTELLIGENCE SERMON AND KEYWORDS JOSEPH SMITH LEFT BEHIND, THEN EITHER THE FALSE PROPHETS OR THE FACT THAT I AM DECEIVED AND LIE WILL BE A MATTER AT JUDGMENT OF YAHWEH TO DECIDE, I DONT PERSECUTE YOU ALL , YOU DIDNT DESERVE WHAT LUCIFER DID IN THE BEGINING BUT NOW YOU KNOW WHY THERE IS NO FRUSTRATED WORKS OF GOD ONLY OF MEN. SAINTSREIGNGLORIFYINGEMMANUEL.COM IS THE TESTIMONY FOLLOWED BY THE TESTIMONY SENT TO THE COMMUNICATIONS TESTIFYING TO THE EVIL IN THE HEAVENLY FATHERS HOUSE, IF YOU SEE THIS MESSAGE LET THIS BE ANOTHER REVELATION DANIEL 9:24 WAS THAT PROPHECY FULLFILLED ? IF SO WHO WAS THE PROPHET AND VISION SEALED SPEAKING OF? BECAUSE YEARS, AND DAYS, ONLY LEFT WEEKS WHICH THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH TRIED TO HIDE, BY SWITCHING KEYWORD PROPHECY IN PLACE OF PROPHET BECAUSE OF LUCIFERS PRIDE. MAY YOUR FAITH BRING YOU TO SALVATION WITH LOVE. i AM NOT A PROPHET BUT I WAS A SERVANT OF THE HEAVENLY FATHERS SON AT ONE TIME, UNTIL THE DISCERNMENT I GIVE YOU NOW TO DISCERN IN THE FUTURE IS HOW TO DECIDE IF OF GOD, IS WHAT YOU WERE DECIEVED TO BE THE CHURCH NAMING TONGUE OF ANGELS WHEN IN FACT IT WAS GOD SPEAKING IN THE RAWEST FORM OF DIVINE CREATOR CONTROL OVER CREATION NO THOUGHT , YOU'LL KNOW IF IT HAPPENS AND UNTIL THEN I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU REMOVE THE PROPHET TITLE UNTIL THE TIME OR APPOINTE TIME WHICH IS NOW WHY HOLY HOLY HOLY CRIES THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN FOR HAVE WE NOT COME TO THIS APPOINTED TIME? Which Bible? The Samaritan Bible has five books. The Pentateuch and nothing else. The Jewish Bible has the Hebrew canon, fixed to a single manuscript tradition, the Masoretic Text. The Protestant Bible has those same Old Testament books, reordered and retranslated, with the Apocrypha cut out. The 1611 King James actually included that Apocrypha. The Catholic Bible keeps the Deuterocanon the Protestants dropped. The Eastern Orthodox Bible adds more still, including Psalm 151 and an extra book of Esdras. The Ethiopian Orthodox Bible runs longest of all, carrying 1 Enoch and Jubilees. Each tradition drew its boundary in a different century, at a different council, for a different reason. There has never been one Bible. So calling the Bible the ultimate source skips a step. Someone had to decide which books counted. Councils of men did, over centuries, and they did not agree. The source sits behind the book. It was never the book itself. God is the ultimate source. The Bible is a witness to Him, assembled by councils.

In the First Vision, Joseph Smith said that the Lord told him “all their creeds are an abomination in his sight”. In 1820, the word "abomination" did not just mean "something I really dislike" (which is how we use it today). Historically and scripturally, it meant something that was misaligned with God's order or a counterfeit of the true covenant. Many Christians today take that statement and apply today’s standards and focus on it. As with most things in history, its important that we look at what was happening at the time. Historians now call the area where Joseph Smith grew up and where the first vision occurred as the “Burned-over District” because revivalism swept through it so intensely that “there was no more fuel to burn”. Revival preachers frequently attacked rival denominations by using their creeds as weapons in revival sermons. Methodists accused Presbyterians of “cold Calvinism.” Presbyterians accused Methodists of “Arminian heresy.” Baptists accused both of infant baptism error. This was not an isolated practice. Newspapers published creedal summaries. Ministers debated creeds in pamphlets. Churches advertised their creeds to attract converts. Today, people focus on the 4th century creeds as a dividing line, but in the world where Joseph Smith grew up, there were other, more hotly debated creeds that were used to distinguish one Protestant group from another. Presbyterians used the Westminster Confession Methodists used the Articles of Religion Baptists used the Philadelphia Confession While these creeds applied the 4th-century definitions of God that alone wasn’t enough to stop a bitter argument about how salvation actually works and what would get them to heaven. (Sounds like the same arguments we hear today) Much like how the 4th century creeds are used to gatekeep members of the Church of Jesus Christ, these creeds were not optional. They defined who was “orthodox” and who was not. Most of the churches during this time required an assent to a creed before baptism, communion, or full membership. This is very important to understand, because when the Lord instructs Joseph Smith about creeds makes sense when you understand how they operated in the world which the 14-year-old boy lived. Creeds divided Protestants. They excluded people from membership. They defined who was saved and who was damned. They fueled the firestorm of religious activity at the time. This is why members of the Church of Jesus Christ react as they do to creeds (which mostly in today’s environment are the 4th-century creeds that are the current marker of a “true Christian”). When the First Vision calls the creeds an abomination, it isn’t saying every line in them is wicked. It’s pointing to the bigger problem: people using man‑made formulas to police belief and divide Christ’s followers. That’s what had corrupted Christianity.

I met my wife in a small mountain town in rural Colorado, a place called Glenwood Springs. She was my neighbor. When I first saw her, it was like being struck by lightning. I knew in that instant that my life as I had known was over and something else had begun. Years later I took her to the top of a mountain at night in Telluride and asked her to marry me. I did not want our story to be a thing that happened only down here. I wanted to point us upward from the very beginning. And out of that love came my son, and I learned that a human being can feel things I did not know were in the catalog of what a person is. Joy beyond joy. The weight of a sleeping child against your chest that rearranges you and tells you, wordlessly, that you have touched the veil somehow. This is why I cannot bear what traditional Christianity has tried to do to heaven, and why you should not bear it either. Joseph Smith taught about the world to come is the most comforting and the most scandalous thing ever spoken over a grave. For fourteen centuries Christendom painted the afterlife as an escape from this life, a dissolution of the self into light, a disembodied rest among clouds and harps where the particular person you are melts into a general bliss. Joseph stood up and said no. He said the same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only coupled with a glory we do not now enjoy. The laughter at your own table is not left behind. The particular way my wife says my name, the particular weight of my son asleep against my chest, the face of the friend you buried and have grieved for years, none of it is left behind. It goes with you, the same and yet glorified, recognizable, real, and never to be lost again. The dead are not gone and not asleep. They are awake and aware and pressing close against this world, separated from us by a veil thinner than a breath, and the reunion when it comes will not be the meeting of strangers but the picking up of a conversation that was only ever interrupted, never ended. The mother you lost knows your name still. The father whose hands once blessed your head is waiting to take your hand again. Death is not the severing of the cord. It is only a door they walked through ahead of you, into the next room, with the light still on and the table still set. And the deepest thing Joseph restored is the sealing. The bonds we forge here can be made permanent by the authority that binds in heaven what is bound on earth, so that a marriage sealed in the temple is not dissolved by death but only deepened by it, and a family remains a family when the stars have burned down to ash. This is the cord that does not break. Every other faith on the earth has told its lovers that the grave is the end of them, that whatever heaven holds it does not hold this, that the dead are loved only in memory now. Joseph looked at that long sorrow and tore it in two. He said the love you build in the small unremarkable hours of an ordinary life is not a comfort for a few decades but the literal architecture of the world to come, the seed of thrones, the beginning of a family that will go on creating and rejoicing and ascending together, world without end. Heaven is the keeping of everything you love, purified and made eternal and placed beyond the reach of death forever. I think of the lightning in Glenwood Springs, the stars over Telluride, the weight of my son in the dark, and I do not believe for one moment that these were given to me only to be taken away. They were not the fleeting comforts of a brief life. They were the first pages of an eternal one. The pioneers could bury their children in the snow and keep walking because they believed this with their whole souls, not as poetry but as fact, as solid as the ground under the grave. They knew the cord held. They knew the door had only opened, not closed. Believe it the way they believed it. The same sociality, coupled with glory. The veil thin as breath. The cord unbroken. The table still set, and the light still on, and everyone you have ever loved and lost waiting in the next room for the door to open one last time and let you in.

The World Cup has turned America into a discovery channel for the rest of the world. And they are not handling it well. In the best possible way. Here is what they are discovering: Free public restrooms. Europeans pay every time. Free water at every restaurant. Just appears. Free refills. Coffee. Sodas. Iced tea. Unlimited. Free chips and salsa before you even order. Free warm bread with dinner. Ice in drinks like civilized people. Air conditioning everywhere. Not a moral debate. A fact. Parking lots attached to the actual place you are going. Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it. Ranch dressing by the gallon. Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced. Dental care that actually works. Buccee’s. There are no words for Buccee’s. Then they found the grocery stores. Five of them within one mile. Each one the size of an aircraft hangar. Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday. The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes. In silence. Processing. They finally understand why we do not have trains. We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive. Parking lots the size of small European countries. Airports in every city worth visiting. Why would we need trains. The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle. The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak. The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre. The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas. Welcome to America! The greatest country on earth.
