@Jefffeldman @jamesonhaslam Dude I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve blocked “Emma” 😂

@irentdumpsters Dude part of me wants you to fail so I can see this. But than I remembered you do my SEO and GBP optimization… so…

Bro this is SO well said and I’m in a similar place. We’ve lived off savings for 2 years while working crazy hours to blitz-grow our company from scratch so we can provide the stability and opportunity high level talent wants to call home and give the best possible service to our customers. It’s not easy, and few people get it. You do. Cheers 👊

One of my techs came back from a service call today with a story.
The customer had seen my posts on X—specifically the ones about our $1,000,000 bank balance and my new Raptor.
They made a comment: "I guess I know why your pricing is what it is."
(Mind you, this was said next to the Rolls-Royce parked in their driveway, so maybe it was a joke... but it stuck with me.)
Here’s the reality of what that $1M and that truck actually mean:
1. The $1M in the bank isn't profit in my pocket.
It’s 14 months of squirreling away every dollar to protect this company. In November, our seasonal business drops by 60%. That cash float is why I don't have to panic about payroll. It’s why every single person on my team gets healthcare, a 401(k), and competitive wages year-round. Every dime of that money is getting reinvested into hiring better service managers and training our team to serve our customers better.
2. The Raptor wasn't bought with HVAC profits.
My previous F-250 was fully paid off long before I bought this company. Trading it in covered the vast majority of the Raptor.
3. I take home a fraction of what I used to.
Before stepping into home services, I was the Global Head of Data & AI Products for the largest HR firm in the world, operating across 45 countries. Today, I pay myself roughly 25% of my former market rate. Most weeks, 70% to 80% of my technicians make more money than I do.
4. Nothing was given to me.
No college degree. Just a stint as a USMC combat veteran, and a job in 2009 working the midnight shift as a security guard making $8/hr under the table in an empty parking lot.
Today, I put in 90-hour workweeks and drive a 144-mile daily commute because my incredible wife with her own fantastic career supports the vision: building a company that treats its employees and customers with the respect they deserve.
Pricing doesn't line my pockets. It protects my people, guarantees our service, and keeps our doors open for the long haul.

@farrowhardy1 Really great point man. I’d say I am super solid with biz and family. The other 2 hit and miss. So I relate and agreed
English

@TylerGriffin I've never met anyone who is incredible at ALL these things:
-Working Out/Being super healthy
-Friends
-Family
-Career
You gotta sacrifice one or you'll be like 80% at all of them. I focus a lot on family and career and keeping up with friends falls by the wayside.

@stevehunsaker1 Freaking brilliant. Time to take my attacking of the enemy (PE) to the next level!
English

Go to your #1 competitor’s Google business page.
Sort by 1 star.
Pull out your phone.
Film ads/landing page content attacking those pain points

@freeconlon @goswiftpro There are worse people that could be in your feeds 😜
English

@TylerGriffin @goswiftpro Same for me. Tommy Melo live rent free in my feed.
English

We are in active learning and test mode on meta to turn it into a top marketting channel for @goswiftpro. Meanwhile my Facebook timeline is now crammed with other hvac and plumbing company videos and reels 😩😂
English

@TylerGriffin @goswiftpro Once your personal page interacts with any (even your own) it will just blast you with your competitors lol
English

@TylerGriffin @ToddLlewellyn @goswiftpro A good tip is to set your conversion action to be a purchase, not a lead form completion. Harder to set up but results will improve cause Meta won't be optimizing for form fills, which will generate a ton of junk leads.
English

@ToddLlewellyn @goswiftpro Yeah, and water heaters are challenging. We are doing about two a day right now, but mostly from Angie leads and margins aren’t great because competition is tight.
English

@TylerGriffin @goswiftpro What services are working best?
Water softener ads work great for me on meta.
Water heaters are hard. People don’t buy one until they need it.
English

@ToddLlewellyn @farrowhardy1 @goswiftpro You know what’s funny is it seems like Meta campaigns also have a positive effect on Google. Like everything feeds everything.
English

@farrowhardy1 @TylerGriffin @goswiftpro I have notice since running meta ads that often times a lead will say they saw an ad and another source

@TylerGriffin Had a similar situation once. Homeowners claim got denied by their insurance and they decided to rip us on every review site they could find
English

We ran as many emergency calls we could on July 4 with multiple guys giving up their holiday. They received like triple pay to do that and the company might’ve broke even. One home we serviced was with a backed up drain with all toilets in the house backed up. Plumber got it unclogged successfully, but forgot to add the emergency dispatch fee that the customer agreed to pay before he went out. He went back and asked for it, and the customer agreed to pay, and that seemed to be the end of it. Until last night, 16 days later, with no record of a complaint or request, he goes online in the middle of the night and blasts us with 1 star reviews using two different profiles on Google and on Yelp. The customer is NOT always right. This business is freaking hard 🙄
English

@rossiadam @TylerGriffin Haven't had that yet, but thanks for the new fear.
English

@SMBRodney @rossiadam Being served with child support papers by a law officer at my personal home for an employee is the worst. Thankfully has not happened with current business but it did at least twice with my last company.
English

@rossiadam @TylerGriffin You find out pretty quickly just how many states want their child support $.
