@ryanbebb @MassGovernor @GovKathyHochul If a utility builds a pipeline, our bills go up immediately. We all pay for the construction, financing, and a guaranteed profit. + those charges start hitting the delivery side of the bill years before any gas flows. It’s 1 of the slowest, most expensive way to meet our needs

This is the 4th time Amazon had tried something new to simplify physical shopping Amazon Dash: They created buttons that you can click for each product you consume a lot of, it turned out that setting up a subscription on your phone without a physical button. Amazon Go: They opened a store in SF, no staff, just you and your phone, you scan your QR code and there are a ton of cameras to track you, you grab what you want and it adds it to your digital cart on your phone, it even removes items as you change your mind and remove them, and just walk out of the store. As it turned out, people do care a little more about their privacy than Amazon thought they would. They ended up killing the stores back in January this year, and announcing integrating the feature into Whole Foods. Amazon One: A contactless way to pay, by the end of September 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and while everyone is afraid of touching anything, Amazon hit while the iron was hot by releasing a contactless way to pay using the palm of your hand, launching it in their subsidiary grocery stores, Whole Foods, no card, no phone, just the palm of your hand! ✋🏼 Amazon misses the mark again not acknowledging the privacy of people’s biometrics, which most people won’t willingly handout, after 5 years of trying to make it work they phased out the readers in most stores, and will finally retire it early next month on June 3rd. And now… Amazon Dash Cart. It seems to utilize what Amazon had learned throughout previous experiments We will see how this goes, but this experiment seems to have a good balance of technology without invading people’s privacy.

I tried the new Amazon Dash Cart at Whole Foods today and I’m convinced this is way better than self checkout and maybe is the future of grocery shopping The shopping cart has an integrated barcode scanner and scale and computer vision systems so you just swipe before you drop your groceries in the cart Then you simply walk out of the store!! There’s no checkout because you link the cart to your phone / Amazon account I think Amazon will roll it out to 25 more stores by the end of 2026 Whether people actually use and adopt it is another question! But if I had to pick between this or self-checkout then I would pick one of these every time I still prefer a human checkout however because it is easier and faster and they are better at bagging it than me

This may be a stupid question, but AI couldn’t answer it very well, so here goes: How can an extremely small investor like myself get involved with the SpaceX IPO?

@AlSultan_Meriam @AlexGuichet @nikkharris I agree with better education, but making it required I think is necessary also. The one time I experienced a line a person literally tried driving through people in line saying they're not participating in the line.

I forgot to share the original prompt to join the waitlist where it appears in small very friendly blue color! This is a quick rendering with Grok The waitlist should inform people of the purpose of it, and it should be in red, red indicates an immigrate attention to the message Should be larger as well. Thanks @nikkharris for the picture. @AlexGuichet would love to see an update in this and we can test it again and see if the a clearer message gets more people to be aware of the waitlist and join it. I know this is too wordy, it was just a quick rendering.

So today @nikkharris and I went to test the waitlist At least 8 people cut in line and we don’t think they knew about the waitlist, maybe the design should show that other people are waiting before it invites them to join And when someone cut in line it says nothing to address what they did. We waited until all stalls got filled, then a pop up showed in our cars asking to join a waitlist, it may get easily dismissed because it shows up on top where the time is, you also see an option to join the waitlist once you start navigating to the supercharger if it’s full, but it’s also easy to miss. I joined first Then Nik joined It showed at my end that one car was ahead of me, and it showed Nik he’s third on the waitlist.

@bilalsattar 100amp. We’re installing central air soon which will likely require a panel upgrade This may have deferred that if we can manage charging loads with 100a

The best wait is no wait, but we’ve been working hard on an easy to use waitlist for those few times you have to wait in line to charge We’re paying very close attention to feedback during this early period

@Boenau People act like narrowing lanes, reducing lane count and/or reducing curbside parking (for bike infra) is a very personal attack on them. We just want the amazing mobility options the EU figured out.. and there will still be roads and parking

Most HVAC contractors in America are trying to keep you in the 1990s. I had $15,000 cash to spend on a cold-climate heat pump. Nearly every contractor I contacted tried to talk me out of it or over-quote me an outrageous amount to deter me away. One guy spent 20 minutes explaining why variable-speed heat pumps are a scam. Another literally said he wouldn’t put one in his own house. Why? My guess: 1) They are ignorant of the latest technology 2) They don’t have the training to install/service the new systems 3) Their pockets get filled from big box old school HVAC manufacturers if they sell them Unfortunately, a new HVAC for most homeowners is very urgent so these contractors use this time crunch to overcharge or upsell inferior systems. Luckily, I bought a couple of $130 window AC units to hold me over for 2 weeks while I reached out to 15+ contractors. I received quotes ranging from $10,000 to over $24,000. Only 2 of the quotes included a modern cold-climate heat pump. After price matching and negotiations, I ultimately chose a Daikin Aurora Fit cold-climate inverter heat pump + 97% modulating gas furnace (true dual-fuel setup) Total cost after rebates = $13,000 This system usually goes for around $20,000. Here are the key takeaways I wish I had known before I started shopping: 1. Always demand a real Manual J load calculation. Don’t settle for a “rule of thumb” or register count. I had 3 different contractors give me 3 different sizes until one actually ran proper software. 2. True variable-speed inverter technology is worth it especially in a multi-level home. It runs longer at lower speeds, gives much better dehumidification, smoother temperatures, and is noticeably quieter. 3. Dual-fuel (heat pump + high-efficiency gas furnace) is often the smartest move in mixed climates (like my home in Louisville). The heat pump handles most of the year efficiently while the furnace only kicks in on the coldest days (if necessary) 4. Shop aggressively and negotiate hard. Buy yourself some time with some temporary/portable units. I got competing quotes and used them to drive the price down significantly. 5. Duct sealing, correct sizing/tonnage, and proper installation matter more than most people realize especially in older homes. 6. Have a detailed checklist to vet each contractor. An extremely helpful guide I had throughout the process was from @energysmartwv So why did I insist on cold climate heat pump? • Way better temperature balance upstairs (even without zoning) • Excellent dehumidification in humid summers • Significantly quieter operation • I’m expecting to save $60/month on electricity • Less reliance on gas and possibly eliminating the need altogether Modern cold-climate heat pumps are no longer experimental. They’re one of the smartest upgrades most homeowners can make right now. Do your homework to make sure you are getting the best system possible for your home. Don’t let old school contractors keep you in the past. Have you installed (or considered) a heat pump in a cold or mixed climate? Were the contractors helpful or did they try to talk you out of it?

It’s been a crazy weekend however I am happy to report @BLKMDL3, @AaronS5_ , and I just completed our first Cannonball Run between Red Ball Garage in New York City and Portofino in Redondo Beach. We leveraged FSD v14.3.2 for the ENTIRE trip, including parking at every charging stop, all without a SINGLE disengagement or intervention! The previous record was 58 hours and 22 minutes and we beat it by over 8 hours with a time of 49 hours and 55 minutes! Telemetry data along with a full video will be shared over the next couple of days. What a rush!

@slye @energysmartwv Yeah fair, easy backup that can use as want/need. Heat strips are the same thing as space heaters except space heaters are closer to where needed, but can't operate remotely

@TylerHilliard @energysmartwv Yeah but the dad in me couldn’t trust it completely with kids in the house. I still had some fear of being in subzero temps without any backup heat. The next few winters will be the proof to see if backup heat is actually needed.

@TylerHilliard @energysmartwv Love to hear it. It would’ve cost me much more to upgrade my electrical to support 15 kW heat strips. Since I already have gas it made sense to go dual fuel for now. Looking forward to seeing how well the HP handles this winter though.

@TylerHilliard @slye Hybrids are mainly solving a human problem not a technical one. Most contractors and homeowners are uncomfortable with the straight fuel switch. The engineer in me screams the same thing you're saying though - it's not necessary.
