Idk, actively campaigning against a game out of spite seems really childish to me.
I’m not trying to force anyone to play or like Marathon. But it is actually a really good game and I’d hate for the people who DO love it to end up having their game struggle just because negative sentiment is so strong among the people who aren’t engaged with it.
Both things can be true at once. You can be gutted that Destiny is ending. And you can just quietly not be interested in Marathon too. You can campaign in favor of Destiny’s future and I’m 100% with you in that effort. And you can also not add fuel to the flames when it comes to campaigning against Marathon.

With Permission from Cozmo, I am now posting about this. I received a 1 month suspension from Marathon a couple days ago for "deliberately ruining the online experience for others, either by cheating, exploiting a game glitch, or being disruptive" Let me make this clear. I am more than ok with this outcome. I made a mistake and did something fucked up. I'm willing to take this. No questions asked. No complaints given. I have reached out to both Fired and Icy and done what I can do to make amends and properly apologize. It doesn't make up for what I did, but I would say I am now on neutral terms with them for the most part. If ANYONE knows how I can properly reach out to Astro, do please let me know. In the mean time I am compiling a large list of every exploit I know exists or theorize to be possible within the game and handing it over to Bungie. It may not be much, but its my first step in making amends to Bungie. To the greater Marathon community, I apologize for how my actions affected the perception of the game as a whole. I love Marathon a lot and the fact I gave the haters more ammunition isn't something I am proud of. If you would like to hear more regarding this situation and my thoughts, I did an interview with @Geezaws2 that I think accurately depicts them. One of my team mates Ivan (YoItsMcNoodle) is also included in there and I fully agree with a lot of what he said. I will link the article below This will be my last post regarding this situation outside of answering questions people ask. For now, the road to redemption is long. But bro… hiding in Compiler extraction room and killing a team mid celebration… for the clip is extremely low.
I understand you’re saying your opinion was to show an exploit but you knew how evil it was before you did it.
Now you’re walking it back once the backlash hits. Understandable, because you probably thought the guys were sweats and they could “do it again” or something. But for casual and mid tier players this is what makes people uninstall..
It’s both an exploit showcase and toxic behavior. It needs to be fixed from the Dev standpoint and the mindset standpoint.
Even if you would’ve died showcasing it because you didn’t want to be toxic while doing this, you would’ve been praised to high heavens. Glad you learned a lesson and you’re helping the guys out that you hurt here.
Question for yall: now since the community is now calling for a ban or suspension…

As someone who enjoys the occasional exploit in Destiny 2 and finding funny spots and doing a little troll here and there in PvP (im kind of known as that guy) games in general you gotta know where the line is.
Going OOB, killing a team after they've killed compiler (I still havent even done compiler yet), BMing in the game chat going, "HEY BUUUUDDDIIIIES HOW ARE YOOOOU? and then posting it on twitter going teehehee look guys im so evil teehee, is kinda going over the line. Especially in an Extraction shooter where death means you just lost hours/days/weeks worth of loot. Your first compiler kill is supposed to be this big yea we finally did it pop off moment and oh shit look at all this loot its all ours this is so rad.
So ye this is kinda fucked up.
Also a little weird and cringy...
I'd ban em for the rest of the season, because that about how long I'd put the game down if this happened to me lol.

I think there’s a pretty big difference between exploiting something like vent rush, which is an oversight, and literally OOB camping Compiler.
If this was just to show off the bug, they would’ve jumped out, proved it could be used for nefarious means, and then not killed them.
