Held talks with United Nations Secretary-General @antonioguterres, UN Office at Nairobi ahead of the Africa Forward Summit. Affirmed Kenya's continued support for the UN's only office in the Global South, and the largest by acreage in the world, to ensure it is fully equipped to deliver effective, responsive and impactful service to the people and communities who need it most. We also agreed to work together to push for a New African Financial Architecture that delivers fairness and debt sustainability, with the aim of unlocking the continent's potential through domestic resources for development.

Broke ground for the construction of the expanded United Nations Office at Nairobi Assembly Hall, Gigiri, and inaugurated the new United Nations Office block alongside UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres.

UNON DG @ZainabHawa, alongside UNEP Executive Director @andersen_inger and UN-Habitat Executive Director @AnacludiaRossb1, welcomed H.E. Advocate Duma Gideon Boko, President of the Republic of Botswana, to @UN_Nairobi for a briefing on the UNON Conference Facilities Project, UNON’s work, and the activities of UNEP and UN-Habitat.

A historic groundbreaking event for a Conference Facilities Project is happening on Monday at the UN Offices at Nairobi. Once complete, the conference facility will be accessible to people with disabilities and increase the seating capacity from 2000-9000 delegates. @ODG_UNON

The United Nations is making one of its largest-ever infrastructure investments in Africa since its inception besides peacekeeping, with a nearly USD 340 million expansion of its Nairobi headquarters @UNON the investment brings the United Nations closer to the people it serves.
