From July to Dec 2025, @UN_CAR & the National Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration, and Repatriation Programme Implementation Unit in the #CAR 🇨🇫 conducted 15 disarmament & demobilization operations. A total of 1,110 combatants were disarmed & demobilized. #InvestInPeace

As announced by the @UN on 12 January 2026, the #UNGA has endorsed the unification of the #Peacebuilding Support Office and three offices within the former @UN_OROLSI; Justice and Corrections, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration and Security Sector Reform. This account will now run under the new office of the Peacebuilding and Peace Support Office: @UNPeacebuilding. A unified Peacebuilding and Peace Support Office (PBPSO) is now operational under @UNDPPA @UNPeacekeeping Envisioned by the Secretary-General @antonioguterres as a centre of excellence, PBPSO strengthens @UN support to Member States from prevention through transition, bridging peacebuilding and peace support for more sustainable results. #InvestinPeace

The two other #OROLSI components; @UNPOL and @UNMAS, have established a new team under the Office for Mine Action and Police.

The Disarmament, Demobilization & Reintegration Section (#DDR), Security Sector Reform Unit (#SSR), & the Justice & Corrections Service (JCS) have been integrated with @UNDPPA's #Peacebuilding Support Office to form the NEW Peacebuilding and Peace Support Office: @UNPeacebuilding

On 3 December, #MONUSCO and the Great Lakes Judicial Cooperation Network held a training in Kinshasa to strengthen the technical capacities of Congolese civilian and military prosecutors on regional and international judicial cooperation—a key step toward #justice & #ruleoflaw.
