Eid Fitr Mubarak from the U.S. Mission to the UAE. Presidential Message on Eid al-Fitr The White House March 18, 2026 The First Lady and I send our best wishes to every American celebrating Eid al-Fitr. Eid al-Fitr, also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast, unites Muslim families, friends, and communities in honor of their spiritual devotion at the conclusion of Ramadan.  It also serves as a reminder of the foundational American principle of religious liberty, which my Administration is fighting for every day. We offer our warmest greetings for a blessed Eid al-Fitr to all who celebrate. whitehouse.gov/briefings-stat…

.@TreyYingst: Tens of thousands of Americans have been able to leave the Middle East as a result of efforts by @SecRubio to get Americans out of harm's way — at no cost. It’s been a very successful effort.

United Arab Emirates: We are monitoring the situation in the Middle East closely and will keep you updated so you can make decisions about your safety. If you want to leave the Middle East, the U.S. government is ready to assist by providing you the latest information about the departure options available. President Trump, Secretary of State Rubio, and the Department of State have no higher priority than the safety and security of American citizens. If you choose to not take advantage of available departure options, including commercial options, you should be prepared to shelter in place in a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items. We urge all Americans to remain vigilant, follow local authorities’ instructions, and review the latest guidance from the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. An increasing number of commercial flights are operating out of international airports in the UAE. Borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia have been open, and commercial flights from those countries are operating. UAE immigration authorities continue to enforce exit bans, and if you are subject to one, you will not be permitted to travel. You can check the status of an exit ban through the Dubai Police app or website, or at any Dubai or Abu Dhabi police station. Over 43,000 American citizens have safely returned to the United States from the Middle East since February 28. Under President Trump and Secretary Rubio’s leadership, the Department of State has completed more than three dozen charter flights and has safely evacuated thousands of Americans from the Middle East. While commercial flight availability across the region continues to improve, Department of State charter flights and ground transport operations will scale down as seats available on the Department’s charter options are significantly greater than the demand from Americans in the region. On March 11, the Department of State contacted nearly 9,000 American citizens in the United Arab Emirates to offer U.S. government charter flights. Despite those efforts, those flights departed the UAE with available seats due to a lack of demand. Most Americans who requested assistance have declined assistance when offered, opting either to remain in country or book commercial flight options. Through the State Department’s 24/7 Task Force, we have directly assisted over 30,000 Americans abroad, offering security guidance and travel assistance. Americans in the Middle East who need assistance can call the U.S. Department of State, 24/7, at +1-202-501-4444. Given the remarkable successes and declining demand in the region, this will be the last daily update. The Department will continue to provide updates as needed.
