President Trump delivered a powerful speech tonight. He was clear about our objectives in Iran: • Destroy their weapons factories • Destroy their navy • Destroy their air force • Destroy their chances of ever having a nuclear weapon The President’s leadership sends a message to the world that the United States will defend its people and its interests, and uphold peace through strength.

In honor of today’s successful 🚀 of Artemis II mission to the Moon, we’re looking back at a special moment at the Osaka Science Museum. Erik Jacobs, Chief of Staff for @USAmbJapan, joined a donation ceremony highlighting the strong and enduring friendship between the United States and Osaka, while inspiring the next generation of Japanese space explorers to reach for the stars! 🇺🇸🇯🇵

Liftoff. The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon. Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.

The next era of human space exploration is here! @USAmbJapan Glass, Deputy Chief of Mission Aaron Snipe, 🇺🇸 Embassy Tokyo colleagues, and 🇯🇵 partners celebrated the successful launch of @NASAArtemis II from @NASAKennedy 🚀. The crew’s 10-day mission around the Moon sets the stage for a return of humans to Earth’s closest celestial body 🌕. @NASA @JAXA_jp @JAXA_en

We’re launching Artemis II during America’s 250th year. 🇺🇸 Honored to celebrate it with @Freedom250.

From springtime sakura to sumo, @UnderSecPD Sarah Rogers experienced Japan and the 🇺🇸🇯🇵 partnership at their very best. A @Freedom250 @America250 celebration at @F1's Japanese Grand Prix and engagements with counterparts in education, government, and sports all featured over two days of deepening 🇺🇸🇯🇵 ties.

Launched by U.S. Embassy Tokyo and the @USJC in the wake of the Tohoku disaster in March 2011, the @TOMODACHI Initiative continues to support and encourage young American and Japanese leaders through its many mentoring programs.

Ahead of the launch of @NASAArtemis II, @NASA Attaché Rebecca Levy explains the significance of the first crewed mission around the Moon in more than 50 years. Catch the liftoff of Artemis II live via the @NASA website: plus.nasa.gov

The U.S. Embassy with @USAmbJapan and @UnderSecPD celebrated America’s 250th anniversary at the @F1 Japan Grand Prix 2026! Honda returned to F1 in partnership with @AstonMartinF1 for engine development and race support. The unbelievable speed on the track and the massive energy from the stands made the race truly spectacular. Go 🇺🇸🏁! @Freedom250 @America250

Today at the G7 I reiterated that President Trump is committed to reaching a ceasefire and negotiated settlement to the Russia-Ukraine war as soon as possible.

As the 🇺🇸 and 🇯🇵 delegations prepared to leave Iwojima and return to Tokyo, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. A very fitting symbol of hope at the end of an extraordinary and solemn day of remembrance.

Did you know everyone's favorite beagle is actually an aerospace pioneer? Here are three times Snoopy made space history: 🚀 Just before the real Moon landing, a 1969 comic strip featured Snoopy walking on the lunar surface, declaring himself the "first beagle on the moon." 🌕 During Apollo 10 in 1969, NASA's lunar module was officially named "Snoopy" because its mission was to "snoop around" the moon to find a suitable landing site for Apollo 11. 🐾 Fast forward to the 2022 mission, when a custom Snoopy plush wearing a NASA-approved flight suit flew around the Moon aboard the Orion capsule, serving as the official zero-g indicator! Keep an eye on @NASA for more on the Artemis II launch window in early April.

A birthday gift of horticultural art for America! To mark 250 years of American independence, the Nippon Bonsai Association and Nippon Suiseki Association donated a collection of miniature green masterpieces to the U.S. National Arboretum's National Bonsai and Penjing Museum, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. At a donation ceremony in Tokyo, Mary Glass noted that the bonsai — like the 🇺🇸🇯🇵 partnership — were the result of "patience, respect, shared creativity, and a deep commitment to stewardship across generations.” @America250 @Freedom250 @USDA_APHIS @USDA_ARS

Introducing our new series: "U.S.-Japan Time Travel: A Day in History"! Over 170 years of shared history, woven through bonds and epic dramas. Join us as we journey back to the very moments that shaped our nations. First up— On this day in 1912, Japan presented 3,020 cherry trees to Washington, D.C. That gift blossomed into the National Cherry Blossom Festival, now a symbol of friendship between the United States and Japan for more than a century. Each spring, the gorgeous petals remind us of the enduring bond between our two nations. 🇺🇸🇯🇵🌸

We’re looking forward to the 2026 @SelectUSA Summit where business leaders, investors, state and local reps, and high-level federal officials come together to explore investment opportunities! selectusasummit.us
