I often say "I am percolating" on something. Having spent a great deal of my childhood looking at a little clear glass cap on top of an aluminum coffee pot while waiting patiently for the water to slowly become coffee, that phrase means a great deal to me. I wonder if the younger folks thinks it is a strange thing to say though. I never say "I am brewing" or "I am dripping." Brewing makes me think of a storm and the word dripping teams with sadness. I like the hopeful thought bubbles when I percolate. They bubble up, pop, and then return ever richer. So I am percolating. I am thinking about the Church, health care, art and story. I am thinking about how God combines all of my thoughts on those things and then lets me percolate.
