I joined the @nativelandpod this week to talk about the recent acts of domestic violence impacting Black communities across the country. @bakarisellers asked what we should say to brothers we see on the verge of crashing out. My response was simple: first, make sure that Black woman is safe. I hope more of us begin to understand that every Black woman is somebody’s child, somebody’s baby. Love is an action word in my life. If we love Black women, we have an obligation to protect them. Accountability is not an attack brothers. I love us enough to say we can do better. Share if you care 🦾

You know what I really THINK about rap? I think real gangsters made their money actually doing gangster things and rappers make their money pretending to be gangsters. Even the ones who get caught up in real gangster activity never had any such history on such a level UNTIL they had corporate backing. Not till they get a bag do they even get the level of criminal access that comes with fame. At best these people were petty criminals before the music. Fame is how they live out their fantasy. Even if it kills them. Ask Tupac. If it took entertainment to make you a gangster you're gangster got an asterisk next to it.

Just watched a doc on Haile Selassie. I can’t believe people worship him. Bob Marley popularized Rastefarianism. It was nothing but a marketing ploy. Selassie didn’t wear dreads or smoke weed.
