Durban police identified the body of a woman dumped in a sports field in Inanda as Jessica Merle Leanne Weyers, 23. She was last seen on November 1, 2020 when she told family she was visiting a friend but never returned.
Her body was discovered by community members with her throat slit and both hands chopped off. Police believe she was murdered elsewhere and dumped at the Newtown A sports ground.
Her mother, Leanne Claassens, described her as a loving, caring person and expressed devastation, noting she had recently lost a son as well.

90% of rw twitter now is some version of this, retarded health/fitness take with aesthetic/unaesthetic picture.

When you go on a run your body switches to fight or flight mode and thinks you are running away from something. Who is running in nature? Prey. Who is using short bursts of power to hunt down prey? Predators. Choose wisely. Sprints + Walks > Running

I have never understood the Eastern and Northern European mindset of going on vacation during summer.
When your city is 75 degrees and beautiful and everything is available, you go to Greece and pay $300 a day to turn yourself into a lobster.
Instead of just... going in November. You know, when your city is 40 and dreary and grey with 4 hours of "sun "a day.
And Greece is 75 and you get a private beach.
Make it make sense.

@yankeedft Probably a good thing. That looked like a very poorly constructed frame.

Oatmeal was peasant food for a reason.
In 18th century Scotland, oats were what you ate when there was nothing else. Cheap. Filling. Storable through winter. The English famously dismissed oats as fit only for "horses and Scotsmen." Dr Johnson's dictionary recorded it directly, and not as a compliment.
The Scottish poor ate it three times a day because they had no alternative. The lairds in the same glens ate venison, salmon, beef, mutton, butter, and game. Two diets. Same country. One built bodies. The other kept them alive.
Workhouse rations across Britain in the 19th century leaned heavily on porridge for the same reason. It was the cheapest way to keep a body upright on minimal cost.
Now it's marketed as a superfood. Wrapped in a sachet. Photographed under a blueberry. Sold with a wellness influencer on the lid. The same gruel the laird's gamekeeper would have considered an insult is positioned as the breakfast of the metabolically optimised.
The lairds' diet of beef and game, meanwhile, is dismissed as unhealthy by people who couldn't field-dress a rabbit.
They've convinced you that poverty rations are premium nutrition.
