@KatieW456938 Thanks for raising these points. We’ve checked and the revised FAQs were not shared with the Unite NatWest reps in advance of publication but Unite will raise these issues on Monday. A Unite FAQ set was issued this afternoon.

@UniteNatwest The FAQs are still misleading even after clarification. The worked examples state ‘the colleague will receive £x more with the new ballot offer compared to the original ballot offer’ but the original figure is exclusive of the discretionary award and the new one is inclusive.

The Unite in NatWest Pay Ballot closed at 12 noon today. Members have overwhelmingly rejected the NatWest pay offer and have indicated their willingness to take industrial action, up to and including strike action, in pursuit of a fair pay deal. ACCEPT: 32%. REJECT: 68%.

@Stuie2000Stuart The offer is below RPI so has no recommendation or steer from Unite as per our pay claim commitment. Members must make their own decision as with the first offer. In negotiations, when the employer presents a ‘final offer,’ it must be presented to members for their decision.

The @GOVUK and @scotgov have enabled @ADL's decision with half of the new bus orders going to a Chinese company instead of boosting Scottish green manufacturing and supply chains. Unless there is urgent action to stop these job losses then this political weakness and failure should not be forgiven. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@j_dufeu There will be an update this week. We decided to wait until after the first negotiation meeting. Updates will keep members informed of progress but any pay offers are embargoed until they are put to members in a formal pay ballot so we’ll be unable to reveal details until then.

📊 RPI+ vs CPI. What’s the difference? 💰 Put simply, well over £1m to the average worker over your working life! The government used to measure inflation using the Retail Price Index – a measure of the cost of a representative shopping basket. Then it hit on a neat way of reducing the rate of inflation – change the way you measure it! The problem is that doesn’t stop all that other stuff that workers have to pay for from going up in price. So, CPI dramatically underestimates working class people’s living costs. ✊ So, when Unite reps are negotiating for better pay, we stick to RPI as a measure we want to move ahead of. Unite will NOT accept lowball offers. Sodexo made £593,000 profit in 2024; our members deserve their share and will be escalating their action, with 7 days of 24-hour stoppages in February, or until Sodexo pay dedicated and skilled workers properly at Sullom Voe.

@RytingRong Negotiations remain ongoing. We have yet to reach agreement and details remain under embargo. As each day goes by and with news like this, our mandate only gets stronger. Other banks are balloting on pay and members at HSBC rejected a pay offer that didn’t meet expectations.
