@mcuban Insurance companies don’t have outsized profit margins. The money is ending up at the providers. No one talks about it, but doctors shouldn’t be making millions of dollars per year.

I don’t think people realize how much healthcare costs are driving big companies to fire and not hire. It costs them $30k per family, per year for premiums and care. Most of that goes to the massive, vertically integrated insurance companies that send weekly bills that no one reviews in details. And it doesn’t include the company overhead to deal with it all. It’s usually the 2nd largest expense after payroll. Which is insane It’s far easier to blame AI than it is to blame Healthcare costs. Want to increase jobs, wages and improve affordability for every American ? Break up the biggest insurance companies. Make divest non insurance companies. They don’t need thousands of subsidiaries. That’s how they game and abuse the system and increase costs for all of us. Call your senator and tell them to support the BreakUp Big Medicine Bill by @HawleyMO and @SenWarren.

The United States, however, does not belong to you. So you may not offer an entry ticket to the United States as part of the pay package. Because it's not your personal United States. If you need foreigners, and they somehow can't code in "zip" without touching magic American dirt, that's a you problem. A need in you does not create an obligation in the rest of us. To be clear: 1.) This is NOT an annual fee. It’s a one-time fee that applies only to the petition. 2.) Those who already hold H-1B visas and are currently outside of the country right now will NOT be charged $100,000 to re-enter. H-1B visa holders can leave and re-enter the country to the same extent as they normally would; whatever ability they have to do that is not impacted by yesterday’s proclamation. 3.) This applies only to new visas, not renewals, and not current visa holders. It will first apply in the next upcoming lottery cycle.

The H-1B visa was sold as a way to keep America "competitive." Instead, it imported millions of foreign nationals to replace American workers—and transferred entire industries into the hands of foreign lobbies. "Legal" immigration can harm Americans too.

This picture shown in the Pamm listing is another nearby gas station. We don’t have “Pamm” stations in CT!
