@VR_FR_Spotter Don't feel terrible — you didn't know and thought you were helping wildlife. Now you know for next time. 🙌 We're all learning and just trying our best to help local animals and their habitats. We understand that mistakes happen.

@UtahDWR Thanks. I feel terrible right now 😔 thought I was trying to save him but instead I did more harm instead of help. Next time I would follow this guidelines you teach me if this happens again.

@UtahDWR Hello there I need some advice on this matter. A baby chick Magpie was found in front of our house we try to look for the nest where probably felt and we leave him or her at the bottom of the tree for a while and nothing happened hopping that the mother appear. So what we can do about him or her. Keep it and feed him until it can fly away. If so what kind of food to give him.

@VR_FR_Spotter If you think the fledgling is in immediate danger, then move it carefully to a safer spot nearby. However, if you can't catch the bird, just leave it alone. You can learn more about what to do if you find a young bird here: wildlife.utah.gov/news/2026/03/3…

@VR_FR_Spotter This awkward "hopping" stage typically lasts two to five days. It's part of the natural process a baby bird goes through before taking its first flight. The parents are watching the baby bird and are still feeding it.

@UtahDWR saw a story that daily fish limit has been temporarily increased, but i see nothing here nor in the App. You should update both locations if that is the case.

It’s a beautiful spring day so you go for a walk. You are strolling along when suddenly you hear loud chirping near your feet. You look over and see a baby bird lying on the ground near a tree trunk. What should you do? @UtahDWR has a few tips: wildlife.utah.gov/news/utah-wild…

Each year, @UtahDWR captures big game animals to perform important health assessments & place GPS collars on the animals to learn more about their migration patterns and survival rates. This winter, 1,433 big game animals were captured, providing important big game data

Important takeaway for the average person: PLEASE don't touch or pick up dead birds. If you see 5 or more dead ducks/geese or individual dead owls/hawks/vultures, you can report it to the nearest @UtahDWR office

With the help of our partners, we work hard to reduce wildlife/vehicle collisions around the state and make migration safer for Utah’s fish and wildlife. See where we teamed up with @UtahDOT and other partners in 2025 to complete new migration projects: bit.ly/49uHz0q

Ever seen a moose in your neighborhood or near your home? 🫎 Contact @UtahDWR if it’s within city limits. 🫎 Don’t approach it or try to “herd” it to a new location. 🫎 Secure your pets. A moose will kick and stomp them. See other safety tips here: bit.ly/moosetips
