@Mmoreno570823@tom_karnes@doctor2pi@BarnellNicole Yes! Assigning devices at the beginning of the year is a great idea! As for the lack of wifi, schools should offer a place after school to let students work on their assignments for at least an hour
@tom_karnes@doctor2pi A3) One way to fix this problem would be to assign a device to each student in the beginning of the year and allow them to take it home. However, having WiFi at home can limit what they can do on their devices. #EDTE4200#CSUBTED@BarnellNicole
@laurenottee@tom_karnes@Duncannedd Yes, we have to be mindful students come from various financial situations. If schools require students to do assignments online, then it is reasonable to accommodate the needs of students who don’t have access to computers or wifi at home
@tom_karnes A3) Tech is limited due to the fact that not every student has a computer at home. This problem can be combatted by adding more computers to public libraries or having schools provide the needed tech to students.
#CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@Duncannedd
@tom_karnes@doctor2pi A3) Advertising or informing families of free public wifi locations such as librariesor even coffee shops. Barriers include not having the adequate devices or means of transportation to these public spaces. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@doctor2pi
@NiftyKaliM@doctor2pi@Ststansberry I agree Kali, ELL students can follow along while listening to the correct pronunciation of words and repeat it. Some adio books also have built in dictionaries which are a big plus!
@doctor2pi I believe audible or audio books could be beneficial for ELLs who might have a harder time reading and writing but find it easier to listen to the words. #EDTE4200#CSUBTED@Ststansberry
@mportillo7673@doctor2pi Yes! Google translate can definitely help students and even parents trying to help their children translate the content to their native language. They can also click on the speaker 🔊 icon to hear word(s) and mimic it #CSUBTED#EDTE4200
@doctor2pi A2) I believe Google Translate is a great tool that can benefit English Language Learners! If there are any words they cannot comprehend a quick search could take that confusion away in a flash! #CSUBTED#EDTE4200@doctor2pi
@doctor2pi A2) A program that will benefit ELLs is YouTube. Educational videos in English can help with simultaneous visual and audio content reinforcing the English language. #CSUBTED#EDTE4200@doctor2pi
@Jimbo_edte4200@BarnellNicole@Duncannedd Hi Jim, I didn't think about utilizing game knowledge and game-based learning to engage with students. That certainly helps specially since students can do do both
game and learn in class
@dobbyysock@BarnellNicole@doctor2pi Hi Madison! That is true, technology has helped communication not only with students but also with parents. It keeps parents up to date with their children's progress and it ultimately benefits our students
@BarnellNicole@doctor2pi A1) Technology can be used in the classroom to establish communication between teacher/students/parents in certain applications like ClassDojo. Interactive learning games that reinforce reading and math can help students stay ready and engaged. #CSUBTED#csubedte4200@doctor2pi
@BarnellNicole A1) Hi everyone, technology has helped improve communication with everyone at anytime. This form of communication comes in handy when students have additional questions that we can answer outside of class thus strengthening our relationship #csubted#csub4200@doctor2pi
