🚨Palestinian infant Hekma Nofal, only 21 days old, came into this world carrying the scars of Israel’s war , born with severe facial deformities after her mother’s exposure to toxic gases, explosives, and contaminated food and water.
In Gaza’s collapsed health system, doctors cannot even diagnose her condition, let alone treat it, as the Israeli blockade starves hospitals of the most basic medical resources.

@AuthorHFerry @ceciliasala wonder how a group of aesthetic images can be used to give a misleading image of the condition of a people! Perhaps Cecilia Sala does not know who Narges Mohammadi is and how many have testified with their personal suffering and their life opposition to a regime.

Any civilian death is a tragedy. Trust me, my family is in Tehran, and I'm worried sick for them. But you have to put yourself in the shoes of the Iranian people. These innocents. How long before they would have been killed by the morality police? Or the pollution? Or hunger as the population's buying power is less and less every day? This war didn't start in June.
This war started 47 years ago and has been taking thousands of lives since. I mourn every life unjustly taken, but I blame them all on Ali Khamenei. This war was brought on our soul because of Ali Khamenei. What Iran lost in these few days is not remotely comparable to what it has lost in the last half a century and what it will lose if this regime stays in power.
So, don't pretend you care about Iranians when you're in the camp that believes that this regime is reformable; that there is any solution but a complete overthrow of this regime. Iranians have been paying a great cost, and they will survive the costs of this war too. What they won't survive is the survival of this regime. Understand this, Cecilia. Please.
As you also mentioned in a comment, Iranians are taking daily risks for the freedoms you so proudly depicted without explaining the context. But let me say this again. Freedom shouldn't be a constant battle. It should be a given. Iranians deserve better.

Iran is currently in the middle of a war, possibly a war that can mark the end of the brutal Islamic Regime. And what does Cecilia Sala have to say about Iran in this very critical moment?
"What do you encounter walking through the streets of Tehran, for those who on television tell us about it as the "Middle Ages" while remaining serious?"
Last year, when Sala was "arrested" by the Islamic Republic for the sole purpose of becoming a bargaining chip to exchange for terrorist Mohammad Abedini, I wrote a post calling her out on her irresponsible travel and the cost she inflicted on the Iranian people. I also referred to her posts and mentioned that many Iranians see her as someone who whitewashes the regime's crimes.
Back then, many Italians, almost exclusively left-leaning, attacked me and insulted me, but here she is once again, banging on the drum of the regime's propaganda even as the Islamic Republic is collapsing.
Cecilia, no one ever said that the people of Iran were medieval. No one ever said that the people of Iran don't know what freedom is like and don't know how to live a modern life.
You've been to Iran. You've been in an Iranian prison cell. You should know the difference between the Iranian people and the terrorist Islamic regime. So, that can't be where you're ignorant.
You also know that, when Iranians talk about medieval treatment, it's never about how they want to live, but how they're forced to live. So, that can't be the problem, either.
Perhaps what you have trouble understanding is the decades-long history of resistance.
Iranians fought for every right they've earned with their blood. When I was a kid, we weren't allowed to have VHS players at home. We had to buy them from illegal underground sellers. Watching Western movies was resistance. Now, it's freedom because the government couldn't arrest all of us.
Every strand of hair you see in this video has cost lives, years in prison, beatings, death (remember Mahsa Amini). Walking hijabless in the street didn't happen because the government relented. It happened because no matter how many they killed, the brave women of Iran didn't relent.
My relative's daughter, who had to flee her home today because of the war the Ayatollahs brought on us, had her car impounded for hijab infringement this year. Women are still paying, but you focus on the pretty streets and frame it as if there's freedom in Iran. You take their courageous resistance and give the credit to the regime that still considers this kind of clothing illegal, though it's too afraid to enforce it because it's scared of a full-scale uprising. Because it's scared of these same women.
Cecilia, you're right. Iran is not a medieval nation. But it is held hostage by a medieval government that murders people in 50 different ways for living a normal life. That's what you should focus on. That's the angle Iranians want you to focus on.
Cecilia, I was hoping that when you returned from Evin, you would have gained a new perspective; that you would become a better advocate. But I suppose life is full of disappointments.
I really didn't want to take my focus off the current war (which by the way Cecilia, as she would, blames it on Israel). But this was just too important.
