A Veteran’s Heart on the end of Memorial Day To my brother Kerry Sheron, Sir, as a Navy veteran, I looked at your photo today and saw the same unbreakable spirit I’ve known in so many who served before me. That proud stance, the jacket heavy with patches from every branch of service, the sea of American flags standing tall behind you in your yard that’s the face of a man who never stopped answering the call. I do the same with my truck. I guess it's because I am in Texas. Today, on Memorial Day, It was a hard day today. I tried to write about those that are not here, and I failed. Everything I wanted to say came in tears. But your name now weighs heavy on me. At 69 years old, you turned your home in Escondido, California, that beloved “Trump House” into a living memorial of red, white, and blue. Flags flying high. Banners declare your love for this country without apology. You kept serving long after you came home, didn't you? On May 20th, right outside the gate of that flag-draped home where you held your watch, you were allegedly beaten by another veteran?! A veteran. We fought for free speech and now... Where are our oaths? When we face God. He isn't going to ask who we voted for. You fought for days in the hospital. You slipped away on May 25th. Memorial Day. Killed on American soil for showing your patriotism? We didn’t bleed overseas so that patriots like you could be hunted in your own driveway for flying Old Glory and their First Amendment. We fought to defend it. You never stopped serving. Your yard was just a bit decorated. I think we could have had a discussion on maybe a friendly banter that it needs maybe a bit more HOOYAH! But it surely was a battle standard, a daily salute to what we all swore to defend. Freedom. To your family. We see your pain. We stand with you in grief and in resolve. Kerry’s watch is now ours to keep. To every veteran reading this HOLD THE LINE. Fly those flags higher than ever. Teach the next generation what real sacrifice looks like. The oath we took didn’t end when we took off the uniform. It echoes through every generation. Rest easy now, Kerry. You’ve earned your place among the eternal guard. You took that way out of context. What he is saying is true. He isn't saying the medal is better but the condition of which the recipient receives it is better. When you Get the MOH yes you are usually dead or really injured. That is true. So yes the condition to receive is absolutely better.

This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending the freedoms we cherish as Americans. Across our nation, the American flag is raised proudly to full staff at sunrise, then lowered to half staff until noon as a solemn tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. At noon, the flag is raised back to full staff as a symbol of our nation’s resolve, strength, and commitment to carry forward the legacy of those we lost. It reminds us that while we mourn our fallen heroes, we also honor them by living free, standing united, and continuing the mission of preserving the American way of life. Today is not simply about remembrance. It is about gratitude, duty, and ensuring that the sacrifices of our fallen are never forgotten.
