Theatre trip to see the Tennant/Jumbo #Macbeth at the Harold Pinter tonight (booked in April!) Worth the wait. I loved the staging, music and the audio through headphones, it was incredibly effective. Also this play should always be performed by Scots from now on, thanks.

@scottygb I was there for the full dress rehearsal on the Monday. Going in I was slightly nervous. Coming out I was bursting with pride and thinking “they’ve totally smashed this”.

With 5 days to Paris Olympic Opening, still think back at how the London 2012 Opening was simply magnificent. Industrial Revolution segment one of the best British television moments of all time.

Just spent an hour making a complicated sag aloo lentil curry thing as my youngest daughter is now a committed vegetarian and, wow, was that not worth an hour of my time.

Can someone tell me what bin 7 would have been? I can't think of it I have: 1 Metal 2 Plastic 3 Paper and card 4 Glass 5 Compostable organic matter 6 other non-recyclable 7 ??? Also I noticed in Denmark where they do separate out more their wheelie bins have dividers in.

We also had a really interesting discussion about the nature of love, and whether it is possible to love somebody deeply even if they’ve behaved badly and you haven’t seen them in decades. To which my answer was an unequivocal “yes”.

Just checked my own review notes and I said, "Didn't love the Monique parts of her life as the writing felt a bit shallow/cheesy and it wasn't as interesting, so took a bit to get into it; but Evelyn's story and her life were really engaging."

@VLD_1307 @snorkfr0ken @PassportAndPix Haha I can’t remember exactly page 42 but I do remember being much more interested in the Evelyn part than the modern day reporter part, which I believe is the beginning. So I’d say yes! But I’m not usually one to push past a bad opening, so this might have been rare for me.

@hayley_eu @PassportAndPix Whereas I found it a page turner! I finished it within 36 hours of picking it up. Which when you are dyslexic is pretty good going 😂

@hayley_eu @PassportAndPix I re-read it a couple of years ago. If anything I loved it more than I did the first few times around. This is why I love my book club. We can have totally different reactions to the same book. And those books make for the best discussions.

@jonathansimons I had one when I joined DfES in 2004. Mainly used for post, by senior folk would also used it to feed back handwritten comments on draft submissions.

@kprescott I really like Rizzio by Denise Mina, which is historical crime non-fiction fiction. As somebody who lived as a late ‘90s teen I loved Sweet Sorrow by David Nicholls - a nostalgic and adult telling of a summer romance. And currently reading and enjoying Robert Harris’ Conclave.

@EllieDibdinPR @kprescott Health warning on Seven Husbands. The first 42 pages are the worst written I think I have ever read. I only persevered because it was a book club book. It got better, and I did enjoy it after that.

@kprescott The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! So creative and a fab holiday read. Romance wise - anything by Paige Toon is a great choice!
