Mir ist es tatsächlich gerade erst aufgefallen: Heute ist ja Karsamstag, und erst in diesem Jahr ist mir bewusst geworden, dass der ganze Zeitraum, in dem Jesus tot ist, genau in den Schabbat fällt. Am Karfreitag wird er gekreuzigt und stirbt, und zwar nur wenige Stunden vor Sonnenuntergang. Dann geht die Sonne unter, und im jüdischen Verständnis beginnt damit ein neuer Tag, der Schabbat. Im Judentum beginnt ein neuer Tag nämlich mit dem Sonnenuntergang. Das geht auf die Schöpfungsgeschichte zurück, in der es immer wieder heißt: „Es wurde Abend und es wurde Morgen – ein Tag.“ Erst kommt also der Abend, dann der folgende Tag. Nach diesem Verständnis umfasst der Schabbat die Zeit vom Freitagabend bis zum Samstagabend. Jesus stirbt also am Karfreitag, und dann folgt dieser ganze Tag der Stille, der Schabbat, an dem geruht wird und an dem nichts geschieht. Erst nach dem nächsten Sonnenuntergang endet dieser Ruhetag, und am darauffolgenden Morgen, also am Sonntag, wird die Auferstehung verkündet. Der Tod des Juden Jesus fällt somit ganz bewusst in diese Zeit der Ruhe, in einen Tag, der für ihn, seine Freunde und Jünger dem Stillstand und der Besinnung gewidmet war. Am dritten Tag, also am Sonntag, geschieht dann die Auferstehung. Dieser Tag ist nicht mehr von Ruhe geprägt, sondern von Aufbruch, von Leben, von etwas grundlegend Neuem. Ich bin mir sicher, dass das schon sehr vielen aufgefallen ist, mir aber tatsächlich erst heute. Ich habe daher ein bisschen recherchiert. Die ersten Christen waren ja noch Juden und haben den Schabbat weiterhin gehalten. Gleichzeitig begannen sie aber schon sehr früh, sich zusätzlich am Sonntag zu treffen, eben weil dies nach ihrer Überzeugung der Tag der Auferstehung war, der „erste Tag der Woche“, an dem sich alles gewendet hat. Dieser Sonntag bekam dadurch sehr früh eine eigene religiöse Bedeutung. Er wurde als „Tag des Herrn“ verstanden, als der Tag, an dem Gott durch die Auferstehung Jesu etwas Neues begonnen hat. In manchen frühen christlichen Deutungen galt er sogar als eine Art „achter Tag“: nicht einfach Teil der normalen Woche, sondern ein Symbol für eine neue Schöpfung, die über die alte Ordnung hinausgeht. Interessant ist, dass dieser Sonntag zunächst gar nicht als Ersatz gedacht war, sondern eher als eine Art zweiter, neuer Bezugspunkt. Erst im Laufe der Zeit entwickelte sich daraus eine Verschiebung. Ein Grund dafür war wohl auch, dass sich die christlichen Gemeinden zunehmend vom Judentum abgrenzen wollten. Ignatius von Antiochien betonte als eine der ersten frühchristlichen Stimmen, dass Christen nicht mehr nach dem Schabbat leben, sondern nach dem „Tag des Herrn“, also dem Sonntag. Der entscheidende Schritt kam dann aber im Jahr 321, denn in diesem Jahr erklärte Kaiser Konstantin der Große den Sonntag im Römischen Reich offiziell zum Ruhetag. Spätestens ab diesem Zeitpunkt bekam der Sonntag auch gesellschaftlich und politisch eine ganz neue Bedeutung und setzte sich endgültig als wöchentlicher Feiertag im Christentum durch.

Hello everyone I am looking for lots of prayer for my brother Jake & and his wife Megan. He has a perforated bowel and he was leaking waste into his abdomen. If you can comment below that you have prayed for them that would be great. I would love to show my brother and his wife how much prayer they have over them. They have gotten a drainage tube in there and he is doing better after lots of hospital time and antibiotics, but he is still in a lot of pain and has a surgery next week to remove the cyst that has form over the area thats about the size of a grapefruit we have been told. They have not tested it yet and don't know which came first the cyst or the perforation. He is only in his 30's and this is a lot for his family and him. There is a go fund me post I have to if you'd like to help out you can find on my profile as his insurance is crappy for hospital. Bless you for anything you can do weather its keeping him and his wife in your prays or helping them with the medical bill.

I just wish that more child psychologists had had the guts to pipe up and state clearly that a huge proportion of all children do not experience puberty as a pleasant phase of their life. Just about everybody knows - and remembers - that, at best, it's a confusing time, at worst, downright traumatising. Possibly especially for girls, who are also subjected to society's treatment of sexually maturing females, alongside the radical changes occuring in their bodies. If only they'd just all spoken out and explained nice and slowly, in words that everybody could understand, that it's normal for a child to feel "misaligned" with a body that's suddenly transforming into an adult one, and that telling that child they must be "in the wrong body" is the stupidest, cruelest, most damaging thing a parent could do. And because it's the stupidest, cruellest, most damaging thing a parent could do, they do not dare contemplate even for a second that they've made a horrific mistake.
