@DocGlendale @Neromiku_ Mind if I ask for some monhun clones? I've been working my way backwards, currently on 3U. I've only otherwise played Dauntless in its earliest patches, and God Eater 1 and 3. Only console family I don't have is Xbox.

@Neromiku_ It’s funny because if you’re feeling like monhun isn’t doing it for you, there’s certainly more clones you can check out vs Pokemon clones. Most clones don’t really do as much as monhun… but they’re more consistent than what I’m seeing here.

This game feels like it’s trying to do the same thing as Palworld, but fails to understand that the way Monster Hunter fans hate their games isn’t the same way Pokémon fans hate their games

Yknow if there’s one thing I noticed during this most recent run of Three Houses, it’s that the game is full of flavor text. And I don’t think people give it enough credit for helping the world of Fódlan feel so alive and real. Like these seminar blurbs.

@arvis4prez I know some people might ignore cut content in this discussion, but just look at the flavor text for the trading feature! Descriptions of entire regions like Albinea as well as individual locations like Remire Village or Derdriu. There's factories in the Regan Capital! Really?

@PixelCNinja ... This or something like Sin & Punishment / Kid Icarus Uprising go perfectly with a character I just recently dreamed of, like, this is exactly what I needed to see in my timeline just for motivation's sake. Also looks genuinely neat.

@Lutra_Gaming And this is all at the surface level of "Action". I'm only just starting to get into BT, there's factions, a whole timeline, and that's nothing on the nitty-gritty of how it all plays out. So much potential for different games emphasizing different facets of the BT world.

@Lutra_Gaming Ironically, every time I enjoy a mech game I think "but what if I could also tank AND plane in one game?" The closest I remember getting is being able to support massive and varied combined arms engagements in Battle Engine Aquila, where allies truly contribute to fights.

I was going to make a post about how a macro-scale BattleTech game could work within the lore. Honestly, 90% of the setting would make for an incredibly interesting strategy game. But at this point, it just doesn't feel worth the hassle. The constant "BattleTech is only about mechs" crowd gets exhausting. They have no idea how deep the universe actually is. The giant robot battles are just the tip of the iceberg. Beyond the MechWarriors, there are interstellar politics, economics, espionage, logistics, aerospace warfare, WarShips, JumpShips, mercenary companies, noble houses, and centuries of history shaping the Inner Sphere. "Pew pew, I shoot my mech" is only a small part of what makes BattleTech such a rich setting. Right now, though, arguing that point just isn't worth the effort.

@Ganglosaxonnne My previous main experience with BT was... does the "MechAssault: The Phantom War" game for DS count? I can't even remember the story!

@Ganglosaxonnne Thank you very much for the starting points. I admit 100% it's been a question of Interest, I've always only been "interested" in BT but very interested in other franchises. Technical specs are great! And I'll keep the novels in mind. Old Ed stuff is still mostly canon? Great!

When it comes to Mecha Factions, everyone has a grunt mech. The Leo, the Zaku II, the Battlepod; you know these guys. They're the unit you're most likely to run across when fighting that faction. But for the Inner Sphere of Battletech, there's a fair bit more variety. 1/12 🧵
