@Thrilluwu I'm in the minority here but this is how asgard's wrath 2 made me feel. Coming from tighter abstract combat from games like until you fall, or opposite, realistic like B&S, it felt.. Weak, floppy, artificial. Usually is the story that keeps me with these titles but.. Meh?

This is one of the games that made me have a real falling out with VR gaming. I can see why even “big name” VR games are massively unappealing to the masses. Slapping VR onto assassins creed sounds like a gimmick made in a board room meeting that nobody *really* thought through. The fun to slog ratio was like 1:10,000. It is simply not worth putting on a headset for. Some occasionally cool moments? Sure. But not worth putting on a headset for when 15 other, BETTER AC games exist that require 5% of the energy to play.

@migero_usausagi @ZGFTECH They actually suggest replacing it with a higher power charger in the manual that comes with the device. However they do specifically say to not use a different cable than the one provided.

@RobSanders56 In my mind, I divide the magic in stories between "The physics of a fantasy world that doesn't fit the real world" and "Handwavium to justify a plot part", there are shades between them but personally, the heavier it gets into the latter, the less interested I get in a story.

@DiscussingFilm "Pay them" isn't really the problem here is it? They're making an animation for a movie, they're not emergency workers, whatever demand corporate had of them should've been handled during normal working hours. They really, really shouldn't go past 40-48 working hours a week.

@lawrjones That actually speaks more to a bad hiring policy if you hire engineers that "grumble". A truly senior engineer does not waste time "grumbling" but focuses on improving processes and moving forward.

In 2020 Figma started hitting growing pains with their single managed Postgres database. That means they managed to grow to a $2B company on a single mged instance. I bet at they hired engineers around this time who grumbled about not picking a more ‘scalable’ tech.
