@EYakoby Funny how “nobody supports Hamas” keeps turning into videos of people chanting support for Hamas.

BREAKING: Masked Islamists in NYC chant “We support Hamas here.” Remember when we were called Islamophobic for saying that they support Hamas?

@IsaiahLCarter Honestly, after years of DOT treating drivers, seniors, small businesses, deliveries, emergency vehicles, and outer borough families like an inconvenience, this sounds less extreme than the people pretending every bike lane is sacred scripture.

Maybe I should run for Mayor. Because as Mayor of NYC, I would tear out EVERY single bike lane, from EVERY single street and avenue, in EVERY SINGLE BOROUGH. I would gut the Department of Transportation Alternatives. I'd fire EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of the DOT's brass, and sever EVERY tie with TransAlt, Riders Alliance, and StreetsPAC. AT MINIMUM.
Jason Haber@jasonhaber

More lanes for cars = more cars = more traffic. The inverse, it turns out, is also true. The anti-bike people are their own special subset of NIMBYs.

@NYCMayor Nothing says “for working people” like making the city more expensive, chasing out businesses, raising costs on employers, and then bragging about settlements after the damage is done. Nice EM dash chatgpt

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
I owe my position as Mayor of New York City to the power of working people and I will always govern with them in mind.

We’ve delivered millions of dollars in corporate settlements to workers — nearly $100K each day we’ve been in office.

We’re just getting started. Happy May Day, New York.

@micah_erfan So when Florida is booming, Republicans get no credit. But one bad jobs report and suddenly Democrats discover state level accountability. Cute. At least Florida still has no state income tax and millions of people keep choosing it over blue state “success.”

@DrNeilStone They’ll call a minivan at a school board meeting “Nazism” in 30 seconds but need a team of lawyers and historians when the tattoo is on their own candidate.

@Ver1f13de @K3nB3n “Government & economics 101” is cute, but accountability 101 says show the cost, funding source, tradeoffs, results, and audit trail. Calling it “free” is branding, not intellectual honesty. “Negligible” is the sales pitch. Taxpayer funded is the math.

@Varerbird @K3nB3n The only ones who are confused on the "free" part are people like you. It's government & economics 101 that demonstrates that nothing is truly free. The tax increases for something like this would be negligible at best, though increasing taxes on the wealthy would cover it.

I keep hearing Republicans say Kamala Harris would’ve been worse. How the hell would Harris have been worse than THIS? I mean, Trump inherited an economy that was the envy of the world. A Harris presidency would been better. Even for Republicans.

@Ver1f13de @K3nB3n I’m not against public services. I’m against politicians calling everything “free,” sending working families the bill, and then acting offended when taxpayers ask for math, results, and accountability.

@Varerbird @K3nB3n That's not a reason to be against public services. That's an everyday position literally everybody has. Inefficient programs are a problem. The nonsensical part of your point is that you're against public services because they CAN be inefficient as if we can't fix inefficiency.

🚨BREAKING: Socialist NYC Zohran Mamdani was FORCED to publicly thank Ken Griffin for a MASSIVE donation to NYPD’s Hall of Heroes. Two weeks ago, Mamdani filmed a viral video outside Griffin’s home to push his radical “tax the rich” scheme. Griffin’s response? He funded a memorial wall for NYPD officers killed on 9/11 and in the recovery effort. MAMDANI IS A DISASTER! New York deserves better than this socialist CLOWN 🤡

@Ver1f13de @K3nB3n “Public use” does not magically make it efficient. The question is cost, tradeoffs, and whether the money actually improves service. Every bloated program gets sold as “helping everyday people.” That’s the slogan, not the audit.

@Varerbird @K3nB3n The only confusion here is that you don't seem to understand that "free" in a governmental sense means public use, not that it's literally free. Nonetheless, your argument about bloat is nonsensical, since the money would go to public services that help everyday people.

@uspolitics1111 Calling a Jewish pro Israel candidate “pro genocide” is exactly the kind of ugly rhetoric people pretend is just “activism.” You can support Palestinians without demonizing Jews or treating support for Israel’s existence as a crime.

@ChrisDJackson Cute trick. Biden’s inflation peak hit families every day and those higher prices stayed. Trump’s 2020 unemployment spike was from Covid shutdowns and then fell. You don’t get to pretend grocery prices reset because the inflation rate slowed.

Mamdani in NYC closed a lot of potholes in March. But, March is always a big month for pothole closures. Does the increased closure rate continue in April? Seems so. To find an April with more pothole closures you have to go back to 2017.

@DeepNotShallow Amazing how Democrats can identify “Nazism” in a school board parent, a pickup truck, or a budget cut, but need a full legal investigation when it’s tattooed on their candidate.

@lionel_trolling Obama ran on “hope and change,” then governed with Biden, Hillary, Wall Street bailouts, drones, and a healthcare plan built around private insurance. Calling that the Howard Dean left lane is some serious retroactive fan fiction.

Obama did not run as a centrist. He ran as a critic of the Iraq war with a very populist message. He was more the Howard Dean side of the party, which is why he chose Biden as his running mate.
Thomas Chatterton Williams@thomaschattwill

This makes no sense. Bill Clinton won twice running as a centrist in 1992 and 1996 Barack Obama won twice as a centrist in 2008 and 2012 Joe Biden won—again, running if not governing—as a centrist in 2020. How is centrism the problem?
