தன் சொந்தக் குழந்தையைப் போல கொளத்தூர் தொகுதியைப் பார்த்துப் பார்த்துச் செதுக்கியவர் நம் தலைவர் ஸ்டாலின். வாரா வாரம் அங்கு ஓடி வந்து, ஒவ்வொரு தெருவிலும் இறங்கி, மக்களின் சிறு சிறு தேவைகளையும் ஒரு சாதாரணத் தொண்டனைப் போல நின்று நிறைவேற்றினார். ஒரு தொகுதிக்கு ஒரு மக்கள் பிரதிநிதி என்னவெல்லாம் செய்ய முடியுமோ, அதற்கும் மேலாகவே அள்ளி அள்ளிச் செய்தார். ஆனால், இவ்வளவு செய்தும் எவ்விதப் பின்னணியும் இல்லாத, அடிப்படைப் பங்களிப்பு கூட இல்லாத ஒருவரிடம் அவர் தோற்றுப் போயிருப்பதை ஜீரணிக்கவே முடியவில்லை. ஆட்சி போனதை விட, ஒரு தலைவராக அவர் செய்த அளப்பரிய உழைப்பிற்கு கொளத்தூர் தொகுதி மக்கள் காட்டிய இந்த நன்றியின்மைதான் மிகுந்த வேதனையை அளிக்கிறது. உழைப்பிற்கும் நேர்மைக்கும் அங்கீகாரம் வழங்காத இந்த முடிவு, மனசாட்சியற்ற ஒன்றாகவே தெரிகிறது. தலைவர் செய்த நன்மைகளை மறந்தவர்களுக்குக் காலம் பதில் சொல்லும்.
