@BlickyIan @Osinttechnical @SanGrownUn1 I went last week (afternoon). 4hr drive, got there in pouring rain and only saw ground crews getting them ready. Oh - and got a speeding ticket on the way..(mobile camera on the motorway in Gloucestershire). Total disaster of a day.

@nexta_tv Frankly, I'm amazed that any country allows Russian tourists entry. They should be banned everywhere as a security risk.

A video of a Russian woman being beaten in Thailand has surfaced online — the footage shows her attacking first. The exact date the video was filmed is still unknown.

@astro_jaz Jut got home from a late showing at the cinema. Loved it - though, having read the book (and therefore knowing the full story), the emotions were different.

@scottiebateman Used to love landing the Dash 8 like that - you could really dig the wing in - the Dash 8 loved crosswinds and wet runways..

This video has been doing the rounds today. Many saying the landing was scary and the pilot would be getting a coffee-less chat with their Chief Pilot. None of these people know what they’re talking about!! High winged aircraft use a different crosswind landing technique when compared to other airliners. They fly using a ‘wing down’ technique and not one where the aircraft flies nose into wind. This technique means that often the upwind wing is lower than downwind, and the upwind main gear often touches down first. In my view, and I’ve done a few of these, this is a text book wing down landing. Good job. #aviation #pilotlife #pilot #FactsNotClickbait

On the 737 NG, a trick to stop “floating” (not touching down & going too long) is to bank & try to get the right main landing gear to touch. When it does, the spoilers on the wing deploy, cutting lift & setting you down. Has to be the right, the left doesn’t do it. Doesn’t work on the MAX, which requires both gear to touch.
Air Safety #OTD by Francisco Cunha@OnDisasters

Filmed yesterday at Amsterdam Schiphol by "Tip of the Wing YT Channel". This one bounced so much I thought it was AI: only by checking his channel I realized this was a "serious" production. Any more details on this one?

For the record, the president of the United States is now simultaneously claiming that he has won the war, is currently winning the war, needs help to win the war, and needs no help to win the war. All to destroy the nuclear program he claims to have already destroyed last year.

@almurray @Airfix I love Airfix - they're a national institution. But..they're leaning heavily towards 1/48 these days, and I only build in God's scale - 1/72...

@nicholadrummond I'd rather have several more Typhoon squadrons, a larger, ether equipped army and a Navy that actually has teeth. Oh - and a procurement system that actually works. We have very little GBAD, and no real mass - and massive vanity projects like Tempest are just not necessary.

One of the most significant reductions in UK capabilities since the end of the Cold War was the retirement of Vulcan and Victor long-range, large-payload strike aircraft. Numerous situations since 1990 would have benefited from the employment of a bomber if we had retained them. In the unlikely event that the USA offered to sell the B-21 to its allies via expanded production, the cost per aircraft would be around $750 million - double the anticipated cost of GCAP / Tempest. Two B-21 squadrons or 24 aircraft would be around $18 billion. With an intercontinental range and the ability to carry a nuclear payload, the B-21 is the apex predator of strategic power projection. But is it worth it? I would be interested to know what RAF seniors think.

@BlickyIan Agreed - everything is tied in - military tech, banking, Google, Windows... But the US system isn't just Trump - and whilst Krasnov wants to dismantle NATO for his Russian masters, I don't think that the wider US system will allow it - they do see the value of European allies.

@Vee1Rotate NATO would be crippled without the US - I think they would have to form a new Alliance ? And for all those nations operating the F-35 it could be a problem

In all the tragedy happening in the world, there are moments that make me genuinely happy. An Irish PM defending the British PM from attacks by the US President, and then turning to show solidarity with Ukraine. This is European solidarity at its finest. Honor to the Irish 🇮🇪.

After Trump disses Starmer, Irish leader Micheál Martin jumps in to defend Starmer and encourages Trump to get along with him. Martin then pivots to defending Ukraine -- a country Trump also dissed earlier in the event.

Just to get it straight. Donald Trump has: - threatened Canada (a NATO member) with invasion - threatened to occupy Greenland (part of Denmark, a NATO member) - announced several times that he wants to leave NATO - refused to support Ukraine, even though the United States gave security assurances to Ukraine in the Budapester Memorandum of 1994 - actively finances Putin‘s war against Ukraine by easing sanctions against Russia - denied that soldiers from European countries have ever supported the United States and thereby - spitting on the legacy of fallen European soldiers who supported U.S. operations - imposed witless tariffs on its allies - insulted the leaders of allied countries over the past months And now he wonders why not everyone comes running when he calls. The situation in the Strait of Hormuz is a mess for the whole world. But Donald Trump himself is responsible for this geopolitical chaos.

Donald Trump says his call for help from NATO to protect tankers through the Strait of Hormuz was a test of his allies and indicates that they failed - which surely calls into new doubt whether Trump would defend his allies if Russia launches an Article 5 attack It must also call into question future US support for Ukraine - which would be very problematic as the UK-France-led "coalition of the willing" following any ceasefire with Russia relies heavily on the presumption of American involvement to be credible Here's what Trump said in the White House when asked what kind of response he'd received from allies about helping to defend the Strait from Iranian attacks. Trump: "They [NATO] don't want to help us... We don't need help... "I think NATO is making a very foolish mistake. "I have long said that I wonder whether or not NATO would ever be there for us. So this was a great test. "We do not need them but they should have been there. "The other thing, very important, we did not have to be there for Ukraine..." A bit more: Trump: "I am disappointed in NATO. We spend trillions of $s on NATO. When they don't help us, it is certainly something we should think about."

Trump's National Counterterrorism Center director Joe Kent resigned over the Iran war, the first Trump administration official to do so. "I cannot in good conscience support the war in Iran," Kent wrote. "Iran posed no direct threat to our country, and it is clear we started this war under pressure from Israel and its influential American lobby." Trump responded by calling Kent "weak on security" and his departure "a good thing." "Iran was a huge threat, every country understood that. We don't need people like that." #Iran
