@DarrenMcLean_uk Stainless beads are not that much more expensive when taken in the context of the whole job. I suspect this was the work of a "flipper" who does not care what happens once the house is sold and they have their money.

Metal corner beads outside are a bit silly. What might be a very small chip, easily patched, becomes an expensive repair. And the rust staining…

@shepherdmg Yep, Shopping trolleys, deliveries, bikes. They aren’t robust in the slightest. The modern obsession with sharp corners is weird. This on 250 or so years old and copes well

3 months ago, Austin told me that he wanted a break from adventures. I didn't know why at the time but it turns out it was because someone had made fun of him for being into trains. This broke me tbh 💔 but after lots of deep chats, he's over it & going to ignore them. So.... 1/2

Someone yesterday said I was "single by choice", this is laughable. I think people don't get how rare it is to find a man who is actually single and wants a real relationship, oh, and they have to be able to text back; that is where 99.9% of connections die.

@Tilsit @TPEassist stupidly, on IET / class 800 trains there are no luggage racks in that coach. And no overhead racks over the wheelchair spaces either. So this was baked in.

Then on board I'm met by this in wheelchair space, c/o @TPEassist. Again.

Staff @NetworkRailMAN couldn't be bothered to take me to platform 14, told me to make my own way there and they'd meet me. Didn't tell me that the walkway broken either. Had to make my own way. Staff didn't turn up to unload wheelchair user or load me. Guard had to do it.

So grateful to Gill Harper, who lives at Killingholme lighthouse. She gave us the tour and made coffee & biscuits!

@jeremycorbyn @IslingtonTrib I do blame a certain minority for many of the problems with society, that minority being Billionaires, the ones which siphon off wealth into tax havens and the like.

@DarrenMcLean_uk @PastGlasgow Gosh, that's some ugly house! I especially despise windows with stretcher bond just running over them, could not even be bothered to at least do a soldier course over the windows. What's with that single window with cast stone around it, just looks weird.

@PastGlasgow It could just be the way they use it. Originally it was a substitute for stone. Now it’s basically bling, at least most of the time.

@juoig7799 @Doug_Paulley @SouthernRailUK @NetworkRailLBG Greater Anglia have managed it with the class 755 so certainly possible. The fact that we are still having to Pratt around with manual ramps on most trains in 2025 is a national embarrassment. Especially with the newly introduced class 80x stock.

@SeriousRbbrBNDG Sorry to hear that dude. I know what you mean about antidepressants, tried some Prozac myself, found it did nothing positive for me.

Apologies for lack of posts and usual content. Depressive episode hit at the beginning of March (first in five years) and it may take some months to get through it. I am not seeing a GP - at best they will prescribe antidepressants which I stopped 5 years ago as they are awful.

@_VN5 Taxi drivers don't need to. Some archaic law due to the threat of strangulation from passengers in the rear.

The self-entitlement of certain professional drivers amazes me. Somehow thinking they'll get away with it, or get let off, as they're one of London's finest. 🤷‍♂️

@DarrenMcLean_uk Are you sure about that? Chalkboards have been obsolete for 20+ years and I would have thought any chalk from that long ago would have long since been washed away by rain?

@DarrenMcLean_uk Would a wooden road used by horses not eventually stink of horse excrement and horse piss since the wood would absorb the piss, unlike asphalt or granite?

Recently saw something on here saying that wood block streets were cheap and low quality as they were laid on dirt. Wrong. They were quite expensive to build, and 'being quiet' was waaay down the list of benefits.
