People are using this to dunk on Pedro for not being in the suit all the time, but I think this is very cool and should be the norm.
Give the stunt doubles the spotlight, they’re just as important as the lead actor.

The thing about #TheMandalorianAndGrogu is that it's a mid-80s kids movie.
It's unapologetically silly and whimsical, but also slimy, gnarly, occassionally scary. It's from back when PG used to mean something.
It's Dark Crystal, Willow, or Temple of Doom (without the racism).

Honestly Mando+Grogu kinda reminded me of an anime movie that isn’t totally connected to the main storyline, and maybe even contradicts it haha.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is NOT a theatrical version of season 4 of The Mandalorian. It is its own story. It’s like an annual issue of a comic book line. Seasons 1-3 are the main comic story being released incrementally. The Mandalorian and Grogu is the annual issue where a special author is brought in for his own 70+ page self contained story.

Admittedly I did think we were missing a human element (mainly any of the Mando supporting characters AKA Amy Sedaris) BUT it is wild that this hinges so much on inanimate performances (and is successful in that regard)

While #TheMandalorianAndGrogu may seem "safe", we shouldn't dismiss just how freaking weird it really is. Aliens, droids and monsters reign supreme here. Human faces appear on screen for maybe 10% of the total runtime. It's a Jim Henson film on steroids.

My biggest argument against the Sigourney Weaver stunt casting tbh. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee could have (and story-wise probably SHOULD have) played that role, and it’s not nearly as distracting.

the cast of STAR WARS is so funny by 1977 standards. it is just not the group of actors a studio would’ve chosen to on-purpose make the film so seismically significant that will change everything: the director’s friend, a nepo baby, guy from a soap commercial, and alec guiness

Hate to say it, but I kinda just think general audiences have a higher chance of seeing it if the title is “Star Wars: Episode ?”. Unless they called this flick “Baby Yoda” I’m not sure most people know what a Mandalorian or a Grogu is.

People have put Star Wars on too high of a pedestal and take it too seriously. It’s always been a series about fun space adventures, maybe stop worrying about if the next piece of Star Wars media is gonna be a huge masterpiece. It doesn’t have to be that to be fun and enjoyable.
