@todaystropics @fresheggistan The compensation is for declined quality of life, nothing to do with ability to work

I get 10% (~$180/mo) for tinnitus. Most times can barely understand speech, but pass the beep test with flying colors. Some mornings I can barely get out of bed because of my back, which was injured Jan '08 in while launching a jet. Please, tell me how I'm taking advantage.
Caleb Hull@CalebJHull
Every veteran I know is “disabled” and taking advantage of this broken system. About time we start fixing it.
English

@JomgThe @fresheggistan A 0% is good tho. Means they found it to be service connected, just not sever enough. Seek treatment, document, file, go to the exam. Don’t let them touch you or tell you if it hurts. Good luck

@fresheggistan The VA told me I need complete knee replacement for both knees. I only get 10% for one knee, 0% for the other. I got refused an increase. I can hardly walk most days.
English

@fresheggistan If you’re not rated for your back and no medical evidence, Lay statement from a buddy who was there or doc who treated you. Just need that link in service- good to go. Semper

“If you never served in combat you shouldn’t get compensation for the military breaking and fucking up your body during every other day of the week which still resulted in lifelong ailments and degenerative diseases in the majority of veterans who ever served before they reached the age of 30”
This is why non veterans and people who aren’t immediate family members of veterans and know what life looks like in the military because they lived it themselves need to shut the fuck up forever and always on the topic of veterans affairs.

Military Disability fraud is rampant. You can claim erectile dysfunction and get a check, as it’s a recognized disability. I’m sorry, but unless you served in combat, you shouldn’t get disability.

Check out Warrior Rising. They're a nonprofit built for veterans starting or growing businesses. They offer free training through Warrior Academy (online and self-paced), mentorship, and coaching. After you complete the program and build a solid plan, you can pitch your business for startup grants (often up to $20k, sometimes called Business Showers that include cash plus resources like tools, laptops, websites, etc.). Takes time but could be worth it.
It's a great fit for getting equipment like mowers and saws once you're rolling. No instant cash, but many vets use it to bootstrap and scale service businesses like handyman work.
Apply to become a Vetrepreneur here: warriorrising.org/programs-warri…
More on their process: warriorrising.org/our-process
Good luck!

I don't suppose anyone has any really rich friends or followers who has an extra $10k burning hole in their pockets they would love to give a veteran owned small startup business?? 😃😃😃
Real talk though, suggestions needed. The biggest thing im running into now is having this work coming up but the lack of tools and supplies (proper mowers, pressure washers, table/miter saws, etc).
Ive contacted the SBA, they are a month out. Grants are next to impossible. Ive tried banks for business loans, but since ive been out of work for 4 months now and its a brand new business, they basically laugh. I know its a good problem to have, any suggestions??

Today marks 23 years since the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom; the invasion of Iraq on March 19, 2003 (U.S. time), which launched a conflict that shaped an entire generation of American service members.
To the brave men and women who crossed into harm's way as part of the initial invasion force, and to the countless service members who deployed, fought, sacrificed, and served throughout the Iraq War era: your courage, commitment, and resilience in the face of extraordinary challenges will never be forgotten, and for some, the struggles we still face today.
You answered the call when your nation asked, often at great personal cost. Many carried invisible wounds home, while others made the ultimate sacrifice. We honor your service, your brothers and sisters in arms, and the families who stood by you every step of the way.
From the Veteran Legacy Legal Project Team: Thank you for your service and your sacrifices. We remain dedicated to supporting veterans and ensuring your legacy is protected.

@AaronCarlock2 @DrunkOldGrad All the greasy stuff was the best. But a Cordon Bleu was a hit every now and then
English

@VetLegacyPro @DrunkOldGrad I actually liked the forward galley fast food line best when they had chicken sandwiches and fries. Other days you just had to deal with the line and eat salmon loaf or nothing.
English

@AaronCarlock2 @DrunkOldGrad That actually sounds better!
English

@VetLegacyPro @DrunkOldGrad We had a hot dog stand open at night on the Lincoln. It was awesome.

Ahhh yes. The infamous MOACH. Chow hall so big you could get lost. Good times
NavUpNorth@Jr02145325
@MrChrisCypert Al Asad (08) had this like every week, on top of Salsa nights 😂 We used to stop by any chance to eat at the Mother of All Chow halls
English

@MikeBales In the early 2000s we used to run to TJ for the day, but that’s not allowed anymore 😂 enjoy the time and eat!
