@TheRealEnyii@gabriel_onche@TweetOjie Probably you might ought to dress like jesus did ? hope u know jesus grew up in a certain cultural background? he's a Jew and kept to Jewish TRADITIONS. he didn't deviate neither did he sinned
Colossians 3:17 And WHATSOEVER ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Romans 12
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Don't argue with me, sir.
Argue with the Bible and Its Author. 🙏
The concept of ‘Gospel Music’ divides me a lot
Because I do not believe Christians are not meant to sing about any other thing asides the ‘gospel’. It’s hypocrisy and a denial of the human experience
Don’t you fall in love? Get heartbroken? Or get affected by societal ills ?
@TheRealEnyii@nosaalways@TweetOjie I wanna ask something, are u implying that as an African Igbo man, I should abhore or rather do away with my traditional meaningful highlife musics all in the name of being a Christian? Does being a Christian mean one should throw away their cultural originallity ?
I disagree with the first sentence, sir.
The analogy you used is faulty and insufficient for the discourse.
You can't just come and sing about Christian values as a secular person.
Get this and get it clearly; Christianity is not some code of ethics and values that you do to be a good person.
Christianity is the manifest evidence that Christ died for you, is living in you by HIS indwelling Spirit and using your body and actions to express HIMSELF to the world.
There's a sanctity and ambience that comes from a Christian singing Gospel songs that a secular person can never reach.
That sanctity can never be achieved by musical instruments alone.
You can't expect to get in the Spirit from singing a Gospel song sang by Odumeje or Flavour. With due respect to their talents, they're not Christians.
Christianity is not a profession or a confession.
Christianity is Christ living through you.
In the Bible, the vessels in the Temple were dedicated only for the service of God. It was not to be used for anything else.
It's not by force to sing Gospel for GOD. If you wan sing secular, abeg sing. This shouldn't even be argued sef.
Go and read Romans 12:1-2.
@TheRealEnyii@TweetOjie You can be a regular, non religious musician and sing Christ centered values just the same way you can work at a bank, a hospital, a law firm etc and present Christian values. You can sing love songs with chistlike values. The main issue is what it produces in the listener.
@SA_ssay@MasterMaliq It's still not necessary since it doesn't stopped ones prayer from being answered or being answered.. it's just a cultural thing to do
@VictoryEji28107@MasterMaliq 1 Corinthians 11:5: "But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her headit is the same as having her head shaved."
1 Corinthians 11:13: "Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Be reading ur bible
I have Christian friends who quickly cover their heads when they hear, “let us pray.” Meanwhile, Muslim women cover their heads consistently, whether in prayer or not. So, is head covering for women during prayer actually a biblical practice?
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44
Imagine Goliath was your enemy
@Lady_Ella042@Wizarab10 It's not as if I wanna justify but I think this is the reason why men of previous past generations were against sending women to sch or giving them stands in the society, cuz what's the essence? When 100% catering responsibility fall to the men and 0% for the women
@Wizarab10 No excuse. If you are not yet able to cater for your family's needs 100% as a man, you have no business marrying yet. These things are clearly stated in the Bible and other holy books.
A man would marry you, and you both decide to have kids that you would both be responsible for. But you want to be paid by your partner for carrying out your familial responsibility.
Even goats are not this stupid.
@Ihunanya_chi it's funny to me, bcus with d way 9ja dey go, sex is least of my problem, infact am scared that my reproductive health is declining 🥹, no more morning erections .. like wtf ..
But to answer ur question, my simple answer; konji cannot come and kill me, body no be firewood biko
As a Christian and a single person who is not yet married, can you truly stay without sex for one year? Do you have the discipline for that? If the answer is no, then it may reveal a deeper problem that needs to be addressed.
If you are planning to marry a woman, stop asking childish questions like:
“What’s your favorite color?”
“What’s your favorite food?”
“Who is your celebrity crush?”
Those questions won’t help you know her.
Ask her THESE instead- and you will know who she really is......
"If a man doesn't spend on me, he doesn't love me".
If money is a proof of love, why are you not spending on your man? Or don't you love him?? 🤷♀️ shouldn't love be vice versa?
If you are not spending on your man, YOU DO NOT LOVE HIM. Period!
What is good for the goose is good for the ganger.
Jesus was so bad at starting a religion. He didn’t write a book, did not give his group a fancy name or any name at all, rather, he made friends with twelve ordinary everyday folks.
Attended weddings, visited people in their houses, showed up in the synagogue, used the same energy to speak with the lone Samaritan woman at the well as he would have done with thousands of people.
A Messiah with no Messiah complex. What a man! What a God!
Somewhere between who we were and who we’re becoming, there’s a version of us that still laughs a little louder, worries a little less, and believes time moves slower than it actually does
@DanielRegha The reason I always says tribes and religions are the things I’ll never consider while dealing with people in any ways..so far you are a good person , where u from, what u served isn’t any of my business
Correct me if I am wrong.
-The Bible narrates that Adam and Eve were the first creation, making these two direct ancestors to everyone who is birthed on earth.
-Islam states that Allah created Adam, followed by Hawwa (Eve); And everyone descended from them.
-Judaism teaches the same, a man and a woman as the first humans created, and from which the earth populated.
-Hinduism tells the story of the first humans Swayambhuva and Shatarupa, making them the originators of humanity.
These are just four major religions so far.
Now, if we take these into account, we are practically one people since our ancestors are linked to the first humans created, regardless of our ethnicities and regions. Doesn't this mean that every discrimination against a non-believer or non-tribal person is a misguided hate?
@Matilda_Chinah@instablog9ja Alright , I need u to clarify something else If God is the Creator of everyone, how can some people cease to be His children simply because they don’t interpret the nature of Jesus Christ the same way? Does belief redefine origin, or just religious identity?
Jesus is not a God....Jesus is God
Philippians 2:6
“…being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage…”
(Jesus carries the very nature of God)
Colossians 2:9
“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”
(Meaning the entire fullness of God is found)
John 1:1, 14
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The Word became flesh…” (The word here is Jesus Christ)
The God You Are Serving Is Not The Same With The One Muslims Serve — Pastor Seye-Benjamin Agbo tells Christians
Pastor Seye-Benjamin Agbo has sparked online discussions following a sermon in which she spoke about faith, religious differences, and the Christian belief in salvation through Jesus Christ.
During the sermon, she stressed that Christians should not equate their beliefs with those of other religions, particularly Islam, as she highlighted what she described as a clear distinction in faith.
“The God you serve, is not the them the same god that Muslim serve. Don’t try to say we do do cause we are not serving the same god. The gods of other religions they are man made. They are d+ad and not risen”
She further emphasized the Christian belief in Jesus Christ as the only path to salvation, stating that there is no alternative way to God outside Him.
“The only one that rose from the grave to conquer the holds of death is name is Jesus. There are not many ways to god there is only one way. If they don’t go through Jesus then they are not serving our God.”
She also urged Christians to remain firm in their faith while encouraging them to pray for people of other beliefs rather than making them comfortable in their current convictions.
“All your Muslims colleagues and family are yet to give their life to Christ. Don’t make them comfortable instead what you should do for them is to intercede that the eyes of their understanding will be enlightened”
