Posting this for my German audience: Grosse Wärmepumpen oder was Deutschland von Dänemark lernen kann!

This is the stranges movement I have experienced. When we got our Tesla Model 3 in 2019 everyone was calling me a hippie and an environmentalist shaking their heads. Now I am a Nazi despite no changes from me, the car or Tesla. Back when I was a hippie nobody would set our car on fire by petrol heads or Republicans. Worst thing would being coal rolled by an ancient slow pickup truck. Now the socialists and far left people think it is all fair that they burn down the future THEY ACTUALLY FOUGHT FOR that Tesla is providing. It is truly insane behaviour! Without Tesla there would not be an EV industry today, no battery storage and I would not look brightly on a zero emissions future. This is all Elon Musk and Tesla. Thanks you for all you have done for our globe Tesla. You have my full support 🤎

Craig Fitzgerald wrote a tiny story five days ago about Porsche (and Xiaomi) and ICE and EVs and China and the World and so on: "I've seen a lot of "I Told You Sos" over the last couple of weeks regarding @Porsche's sudden shift from EV production back to ICEs. Here's what's behind that: #Porsche sales were essentially flat all over the world in 2024, except for one place: It got its ass handed to it in China. Make no mistake: A lot of the reason Porsche was doing well was because of China. It was a huge profit center. In 2023, Porsche moved 3,500 more units in China than it did in the United States. Then the bottom dropped out. A lot of people seem to think the United States is the only country, but companies like Porsche are absolutely dependent on business in China. Porsche has traditionally been a massively profitable company, but that was ONLY because it suddenly found a brand-new market larger than the US in the East. In 2024, Porsche lost A THIRD of its profit in the first nine months of 2024. You'll hear a lot of nonsense about this being due to "weak EV demand." That is 100% fiction. In the ONE country where Porsche had been selling more cars than the United States, the Porsche Taycan sold 8,838 units, a heart-stopping 51% decline from the prior year. The Xiaomi SU7 -- its primary competitor -- sold 130,000 units and doesn't offer an ICE at all. It offers the same 0-60 time as a Taycan for SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS less. There are not another 9,000 people here in the US or in Europe who are willing to fork over the starting price of $99,400 for a Porsche Taycan in order to make up the massive hole left by the Chinese market. They are maxed out here and in Europe. I don't care what powers it. It's staggering how ignorant we are of the global automotive market. Ignore it at your peril." #alwaysbecharging

@phibetakitten I travel (way too) much. US security checkpoints are a master class of pointless screaming, shouting und a horrible, inefficient mess. Scandinavia has amongst the best checkpoints. Iceland is great and there are outstanding examples in Asia, too.

@RomainHedouin It is particularly great to benchmark against e.g. gas peaker plants. You can easily see that big batteries kill all economic of gas power plants.

* Læs mere i artiklen i kommentarfeltet ⤵️

Awesome! "Today, there are around 800,000 electric cars in Norway, which corresponds to 27.5 percent of the total vehicle fleet in the country. They currently consume 2.75 TWh of the country's energy production. Despite this, the country's total energy use in road transport is falling, while Norwegians are actually driving further than before. The explanation is that electric motors are more energy efficient than fossil-fueled motors, measured in kWh per kilometer according to figures from Statistics Norway. Overall, energy use in road transport decreased by 5 percent while total mileage increased by 0.7 percent."

I just visited @evclinic in Berlin and they gave me carte blanche to post any pictures I wanted, so let's go through their most ground-breaking tech The crazy contraption on the left is unique to EV Clinic, nobody else in the world has one, and it's used to perform electron spectroscopy on an entire module of 18650 cells all at once. Usually you would need to perform this analysis on each cell individually, but thanks to this they just run the test on all cells at once, saving a LOT of time & money What this means is that you can essentially have a look into every single cell instantly, and know immediately which are good and which are defective On the right, you've got the battery modules of a very popular EV using 18650 cells (can you guess which model? 👀) Because the thermal management system is really well engineered in these packs, EV Clinic would rather keep that module intact and just replace the few defective cells rather than build or buy a new pack to fix the customer's battery So what they're now working on is a very advanced machine that will be able to automatically detach the cells from their housing without any damage, allowing them to replace individual cells and have the module back in place extremely quickly I'd love to get into more details but I'd get things/words wrong so what you can do instead is go follow them, they post very nerdy details about their work all the time They work so hard to repair EVs the right way, not just the simple way, and this benefits the customer A few more posts will come soon on my account about my visit of EV Clinic, so stay tuned 👀
