I am currently on a train, going through a deeply philosophical life lesson. Indian Railways gave me Seat 34. A beautiful window seat. Two empty seats next to me. (Bliss) A rare moment of peace. Then destiny entered. Three colleagues walked in. All very polite. All very "maaaam… maaaam…" Their seats? 31, 32, 33. Two together. One slightly separate. (Just the aisle between them 20 inches)Any normal human being would say, "Okay fine, we will survive two hours apart." But NO. This is India. Separation anxiety kicks in!!! They came to me with that classic line "Sir… can you just adjust?"(mind voice was raging like anniyan) ADJUST!!!! The most powerful word in the Indian social constitution. Now technically I had every right to say no. Practically, if I said no, I would become the villain those random strangers staring at me like i denied an ambulance to a dying human! So I smiled. I sacrificed. I moved. Now they are happily united. Talking loudly. Eating popcorn(cheese flavoured). Doing video calls to prove they are indeed on a train. Meanwhile I am sitting in exile, staring at someones seat instead of the horizon. Honestly, I could have just driven.But no. I chose train romance. Does this story have aMoral ? Hell yeah! Adjustment is a permanent feature on Indian trains.

@UC_Assist They called the registered number ! And the response was an absolute S*it show ! Unbelievable. The customer service call was scarily templated with NO resolution !!! You guys will fail soon. I mean very very soon !!

@chennaicorp this shop in CP Ramasamy road in Alwarpet has cordoned off a portion of the road with barricades which is illegal - presumably for their shop parking! They have eaten into the parking space as well as the road in the turning. Pls clear this
