@martinonyc The Yankees may make the WC, but they will not get past the ALDS. Trade Grisham, Goldschmidt, and Williams while you can still get value for them. Bring up Jones and Periera and run out Belli, Dominguez, and Jones in the OF every night until Judge returns. Rice at 1B.
If Aaron Judge had been lost for the season — as Yankees feared on Friday — the might have become trade deadline sellers.
But even with Judge, is this team really worth going all-in on?

@JeffPassan Just curious...was the game ending in a tie fixed? It sure seems like more than a coincidence that we get to see this in the first year of its existence.
Free at ESPN: The All-Star Game swing-off was a smashing success for baseball. It didn’t matter what it could’ve been because what it delivered was awesome. espn.com/mlb/story/_/id…
@martinonyc Could be a simple double elimination tournament with 4 teams. Maybe divide each league into east and west giving you 2 AL teams and 2 NL teams, each with 26-28 man rosters. It can be done in about 3-4 days.
Would love to see an international baseball tournament mid-season instead of All-Star week. Imagine the excitement if, say, it was Dominican/Puerto Rico last night and U.S Japan tonight. Maybe WBC, maybe a new thing. Hockey did well by changing it up.

Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?
@itsrubensierra I hate when the Yankees start doing this dumpster diving to fill holes. It usually never works out. They need a big bat and cannot rely on Peraza/DJ/Cabrera for the production they need. While I prefer a lefty like McMahon, they need to quit playing games and sign Bregman.
@bxpinstripes_ Before the Yankees signed Goldschmidt, I was saying, definitely. But now they need another lefty bat. I say try to trade for Ryan McMahaon.
Should the Yankees try to swing a trade for star infielder Carlos Correa this offseason?👀
The financial hurdle and prospect haul could be a ton, but this move would cement the Yankees as legitimate World Series contenders⚡️

@DanBartels2@JonHeyman The man is going to make $800M dollars and wants everyone else to take care of his family and provide security as well. He may be putting up numbers like Mickey Mantle and others did at his age, but the thing he will never have is the humility and respect that made them heroes.
It's becoming 'increasingly evident' Juan Soto chose the Mets because of their family emphasis, per @JonHeyman.
The Mets gave the Soto family a free suite, 4 premium tickets, & 24/7 security; however, reports of family members getting air travel or free clothes appear erroneous.
@PinstripeDerek This is what I'm afraid of. The Yankees will now go dumpster diving to fill the holes they have. Yeah. How has that worked out in the past? Just sign Bregman. I can live with Rice/Cabrera/LeMahieu at 1B.
@Buster_ESPN I think you go...
1. Volpe SS or Jazz 2B
2. Dominguez LF
3. Judge RF
4. Bellinger CF
5. Bregman 3B
6. Wells C
7. Stanton DH
8. Rice 1B
9. Volpe or Jazz
NYY 2025
CF Cody Bellinger
RF Aaron Judge
C Austin Wells
DH Giancarlo Stanton
3B Jazz Chisholm
LF Jasson Dominguez
1B Ben Rice
2B TBD
SS Anthony Volpe
Rotation
Gerrit Cole
Max Fried
Clarke Schmidt
Carlos Rodon
Luis Gil
Closer: Devin Williams
@LuisDaz05416644@PinstripeDerek They can dump Stroman (18.5M). In two years, Bellinger and LeMahieu are off the books. They need a power bat and good defense. Gotta go for it.
Yankees probable lineup as of right now:
Dominguez LF
Judge RF
Bellinger CF
Stanton DH
Wells C
Jazz 3B
Volpe SS
Rice 1B
Peraza 2B
Still need a major upgrade at either 1B or 2B and then they'll be in really good shape.
