@birder_l @PondManUK Both families are common, you would expect to find species from both in most ponds. Corixidae is a far larger and more complex family than Notonectidae, with a lot more species diversity and is quite a more bit challenging for Identification to species.

@ViperaDan @PondManUK Cheers Dan, didn’t realise boatmen had 2 separate family groups. Is one more common than the other?

Bluefin tuna have returned to UK waters so why is the Government so eager to kill them? 'Instead of being cherished and protected, bluefin tuna are being hunted to supply high-end restaurants with luxury meat.' Read @sraytweets article below: 1/2 blueplanetsociety.org/bluefin-tuna-a…

The only scary thing about bats is imagining a world without them. They pollinate, reforest, control insect populations, and more! They make the world go 'round. 🌍 📷 Hugo Willocx/FotoNatura/Minden Pictures

Sobering news: The @USFWS declared 10 bird species extinct yesterday. With 1 in 8 birds in the world today threatened, and many more in decline, we must redouble our efforts to protect species and habitats to ensure they never become as imperiled. fws.gov/press-release/…
