So a bloke who worked for @waitrose for 17 years tackled a shoplifter in Clapham, the same area we’ve seen rampant lawlessness … and Waitrose FIRED him?! Disgraceful. They should thank him & give him a pay rise. What message is Waitrose sending to employees…and shoplifters?!

He got SACKED for stopping a crime. Broken Britain. Someone like me who worked in that environment the Police do nothing about it either or even hiring security they do nothing as well. Shame on Waitrose.

Waitrose sacks loyal worker of 17 YEARS for tackling a shoplifter stealing Easter eggs. Walker Smith, 54, stepped in at the Clapham Junction branch when a thief tried to walk out with bags full of luxury Lindt bunnies. Despite company rules telling staff not to intervene, he did what any decent person would do. Now he’s out of a job. And it’s not just Waitrose. The Co-op has told its own staff they will be sacked on the spot for “laying a finger” on shoplifters, even as thieves brazenly raid shelves in broad daylight. After 17 years of loyal service, this veteran worker is thrown on the scrapheap while the supermarkets protect the criminals instead of their own people. Utterly outrageous.
