Very specific example of the general difference between American and European societies…
In the US, it behooves you to build wealth and influence at all costs because there is no broader cultural or financial wealth belonging to the group from which you and your family directly benefit.
In Europe, the upside to building wealth and influence is suppressed because of the richness of culture from which most everyone directly derives personal satisfaction and feelings of belonging (because it’s ancient and tied to their families/blood for time immemorial), reflects contemporary deference to elite authority and caste which are rooted in ancient human norms, and the broader group installs meaningful safety nets which remove the fear of poverty.

BREAKING: As of this morning, Austin, TX has climbed into a tie for the most motivated seller housing market in the country - drawing level with Sherman, TX, which has held the top spot alone since Tuesday, July 7. Austin is now at 7.0, up from 6.8 just yesterday. Sellers are trying to find buyers and actively looking for a clearing price. Texas now claims 3 of the top 5 most motivated seller markets in the nation.

Let me explain my financial situation.
I own roughly $52,000 in Bitcoin.
I have about $6,700 in long-term loans, mostly at 0% to 2.25% interest, with major repayment windows years away, 2028, 2029, 2030.
I have roughly $1,700–$1,800 a year in ongoing financing commitments.
And I have $2,550 in cash specifically reserved to help cover those bills.
My main asset is volatile. My obligations are real. And yes, I’m aggressive.
Honest question. Am I really in a debt spiral headed for bankruptcy? Am I gonna make it?
