Tyler Mumford - The Stump Guy
I love what I do for pretty much everyday of my life. Until I see mine or my wife’s extended family at a big dinner and I have to answer “So is that little stump thing going ok?” 15 times in one night. Makes me want to die.

I wound up deciding to not watch the race live, as I was fairly sure the running order would be the finishing order apart from reliability quirks, with a bunch of yo-yo in between. A few swaps of the Ferraris, and various swaps back and forth up the field, with some broken cars scattered in between a short lived field mixup at the SC. In a quick review, that looks to be the case. I’d say that SC saved it from being a 40+ second gap for Mercedes. Good for Lewis finally getting that first podium, and good for Kimi on a first win. Bluntly, Kimi needed a race like that where he could just drive from the lead and focus on being quick, because his W2W ability is an utter liability. As the regs mature, you’ll see a lot more Noah’s Ark 2x2 team finishes, I think. I’ll probably go back and rewatch a bit later. Anything pressing that I missed?

Sorry to be serious on here but guys - nothing like this is free. Every decision matters. Trying to get away with seemingly little things like this is how one slowly erodes their soul. It may feel good to ‘get one over’ on someone in the moment, but there is always a consequence. It may not be immediate. It may not be direct. But you always pay a price. You are the aggregation of your choices & actions. Brick by brick, every $40 you steal builds a worse version of you. And you’re the one who has to live with it.

@uvanatskinshms @RealRadman I think the superior series needs better marketing and access. I don’t even know where to watch indycar. NASCAR is doing a better job of accessibility. I think that’s a huge part of why so many seem to care more about F1: they’re doing the work to get in front of eyeballs.

@WAT401K @RealRadman We have a superior open wheel series in the US, I’m not annoyed at people that watch a lot of them just when Americans only like f1 which I’ve seen too many times and find it unpatriotic

F1 is cooked as long as those engine regs are in place. I won’t bother to stay up late tonight to watch drivers go 70% and managing batteries all race. Disgusting that it even got to this point.

Sorry, but I’ve got to have a small rant here, and I know it's the first race weekend. Yes, we’re at one of the worst tracks for energy harvesting and recharging, but seeing cars slow down massively halfway down a straight just isn’t F1. I don’t really have a problem with the chassis rules or the aero (if you look past the active aero). The problem is clearly the PU regs. A 50/50 or 53/47 split was always going to be difficult once they removed the MGU-H. These cars are energy-starved. They could go much quicker through T9-10, but the PU just doesn’t allow it. The cars are lighter, more nimble, and generally look nicer to drive than the stiff, low-to-the-ground ground-effect cars from recent seasons. With a different engine split — something like 65/35 or 70/30 — they could’ve been really nice.
PolePositionist@PolePositionist

I’m willing to give these cars and regs until the summer break to see how it plays out. But I had doubts before testing — and I still do.

@uvanatskinshms @RealRadman It’s possible to like and follow more than one sport at a time. Also, there’s 3 races in the US and 2 US teams, all on an international stage. Same as the Olympics. Plenty of reason to care.

@RealRadman It’s F1, idk why Americans even care. Maybe I’m a nationalist idk but I’ve met multiple people who completely ignore NASCAR and Indycar and focus on Eurotrash instead, just never made any sense to me. Not hating on anyone who likes F1, like what you like

BREAKING: Brent oil prices surge above $82.50/barrel with gas prices now up nearly +20% since January. Keep watching oil prices as a leading indicator for a potential "deal" or market intervention. The world simply cannot afford oil prices rising toward $100/barrel.

Got some good questions on this post about our concrete trailers, so here’s how it works: The blue trailers hold up to 1 yard, the green ones can hold 1.75 yards. People tell us how much they need and what strength of the mix they want- 4, 5, or 6 sack. They hook their truck up to the trailer and we make it on demand from our plant. The drum will spin either direction depending on if you’re mixing or pouring. The drum also has a hydraulic dump to make pouring more controlled. They have 2 hours to bring the trailer back and they have to wash it out to avoid cleaning or late fees. We target small to medium sized jobs. Our pricing is higher per yard than the ready mix trucks, but we don’t have minimums or trip charges, plus it works on your schedule. Once a contractor uses our trailers they never go back to mixing bags in a small mixer again. The convenience of this is through the roof. It has at times been challenging, but overall has been a good addition to the business and is growing year over year.

It’s so cool seeing my concrete trailers around town. Fence contractors absolutely love using them.
