Take a moment to look at the inhumanity captured in this extraordinary photo running on the front page of tonight's Minneapolis @StarTribune. It shows federal immigration agents immobilizing a protester on the ground and spraying chemical irritant directly into his face. The scene reminds me of the brutality used against civil rights protesters in the 1960s. We look back at those old photos and wonder how the authorities could have behaved so savagely; many years from now, young Americans will look at these photos from 2026 and wonder how anyone could have justified shooting a woman in the head as she tried to drive away, arresting 5-year-old schoolchildren on the street, or holding a man down and spaying chemicals into his face. Thanks to the Star Tribune reporters and photographers for documenting this work; they create accountability, they make democracy work, and they make all of us in journalism proud.

Elon Musk says that no one has died because he slashed humanitarian aid. I went to South Sudan to check if that's true. It's not. Within an hour of starting interviews, I had the names of a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl who had died because of decisions by wealthy men in Washington.
The visit that moved me the most was to a remote area that used to have no health care, where women routinely died in childbirth. Then a US-funded maternity clinic opened through @UNFPA in December, and not one woman has died since. I showed up, and people mistakenly thought I was responsible for the clinic. One new mom wanted to name her baby for me, and the village elders thanked me and hailed America's generosity. What they didn't know was that Trump/Musk had cut all funding for UNFPA and that as a result the maternity clinic will close this month, and women will once again be bleeding to death in the dust.

@highbrow_nobrow British troops, killed supporting America's war in Afghanistan through our support under NATO Article 5.
But JD Vance says that this never happened.
He never even said thank you.

@krishnakamal077 Every seat is certainly NOT filled. The entire upper deck is empty. Sad!!
English

@slandertony @akarl_smith The wrestling team actually sells out here.
English

@WastwichBarnes @gopbro2024 Beaver Stadium - ~107,000 seats.
Bryce Jordan Center - ~16,000 seats, but photos of the rally in progress show that the upper deck is curtained off, so it's about half full.
English

@krishnakamal077 That's every seat in the lower level. They have the curtains drawn on the upper deck so it will not look half-full. Maximum capacity is about 16,000, so there might be 8,000 there.

@polsiewski @IAQinGWN @ShellyMBoulder @ggronvall @stephensbrent @marinavance @CorsIAQ @JimRosenthal4 The primary air comes out of the inner cylinder and draws in room air as it moves outward. The distance between the inner and outer cylinders (the outer one is just a screen) allows distance and time for the uncomfortably cool primary air to mix to something closer to room T.

@polsiewski @IAQinGWN @ShellyMBoulder @ggronvall @stephensbrent @marinavance @CorsIAQ @JimRosenthal4 Those are displacement diffusers. They introduce conditioned outdoor air that spreads across the floor of the space by gravity and pushes air generally upward. They are widely used in high-ceilinged spaces like those found in airports. Another place to see them is Heathrow T5.

At the Madrid airport- CO2 reading in 671- what are these devices? Are they purifying the air? @WBahnfleth @IAQinGWN @ShellyMBoulder @ggronvall @stephensbrent @marinavance @CorsIAQ @JimRosenthal4
