@BullsSource @Doug_Thonus Neutral? Who replaces what he represents in two years? Swain? Another rook? It appears that you under appreciate how skilled Powell is. He’s a “Dude.” His age is irrelevant and his salary is actually below average for what he is. Caleb is raw. Matas is further along in skill.

It's a neutral move. Not sure he'll be back for the 2027-28 season. Think the plan this offseason was simply to setup for 2027 offseason when BG has more time (only was hired 2 months ago).
Next season will determine who BG is.

The 1+1 contract is nice but it came at the cost of the Bulls exceptions, bird rights and cap holds, reducing their cap flexibility. I understand the long term vision of setting up for a major move in 2027 free agency.

@Schuster_Elias Lack of focus due to some anxiety. Different environment from college. You can see the anxiousness while waiting to receive the ball from ref. He’s exceptional for his age, but in some areas typical.

Caleb Wilson’s free throw shooting has been a true mystery.
It’s been his one area of weakness thus far. Part of that could certainly be the one-for-two rule the league is using. But, regardless, something to watch when regular season arrives.

@Doug_Thonus The only truly solid moves this offseason have been retaining Leonard Miller and drafting Caleb Wilson.
Outside of that, every other move is questionable right now.
He needs to do better otherwise the Bulls fanbase is going to turn on him quickly. We don't want another bad FO.

@TheHoopHerald 19… it’s good he has the 3 ball, but need to get to where he’s lethal which is the elbow. If he’s effective it will cause a double team. That lead to his next need is learning to pass out of the double. Caleb is good for his age. Has a ton to learn and execute

@KCJHoop G-League and needs a personal trainer in basketball skill work and nutrition. He’s a soft young man. Was on his back far too much to take seriously. Needs a ton of developing and must decide if he is not taking shit from anyone

While some bulls fans may not be thrilled to hear either. Is point out that you have to go back to 2018 till you get a roster that doesn't win their championship without those calibers of role players and that's assuming they win without Iggy. You need to go to 2012 otherwise

I've seen enough from Matas Buzelis in his first 2 seasons to have the expectation he will take a big leap on year 3 and develop into a top tier role player along the lines of OG or Caruso (with the hope he becomes more).

Thank you for the response. Who do you think does a better job breaking down a defense in the half court, Tre or Josh? How many of Giddey's threes were assists from Tre? What about turnovers in the half court? Can Josh be depended on to cover other PGs? Is Josh more valuable if he can become a better off ball player? These are all questions BG is looking at. I don't know the answers, but I think he likes Swain's ballhanding skills, or he would have drafted Carr, who Giddey and Caleb could have fed all day.
