@rdavies6 @harmlesshamCQ @K5PO @K0NR The D72 is still a good radio for FM sats. Maybe the AT-D890UV will bring some sanity to the prices some try to get for a D72. Or maybe those prices will remain high, but at least there is one option for a handheld radio currently in production supporting full-duplex operating.

@WD9EWK @harmlesshamCQ @K5PO @K0NR Thank you! I wouldn’t have know about this handie unless I saw your tweet…I would have still been living in the dark ages, assuming some ancient full duplex Kenwood D72A was the only portable answer (assuming you could find one)…

@rdavies6 @harmlesshamCQ @K5PO @K0NR Yes, I have been using my AT-D890UV to work FM satellites full-duplex for a few weeks. Using memory channels in both VFOs; built-in satellite tracking/tuning function only works half-duplex. I have a codeplug for full-duplex FM satellite operating at: dropbox.com/scl/fo/9sx6mx7…

@ARISS_Intl Caught the ISS around 0730 UTC in north Phoenix/DM33, repeater was still on & sounding good. Besides me, there were stations in California, Iowa, & Florida before my LOS. I worked N6HA in California, couldn't get QSOs with the other 2. Using Anytone AT-D890UV & Elk log periodic.

Worked the ISS pass around 0810 UTC tonight, AT-D890UV/Elk combo in DM33-land. Two stations out at that hour, W6PS/CM88 & N6UA/CM98. Worked W6PS earlier from DM43-land. Nice way to take a break from a late night in the office...

@M0URX I was able to stop getting those QSLs by using an unsubscribe link in one of those e-mails for each of my call signs. Then the new e-mails came in yesterday. IMO not a good way to (try to) salvage his reputation.

@WD9EWK It’s a crock of shite Patrick. I am inundated with them every day. Now got to the point that I am invalidating all Qs from these people using the platform. I asked the owner to remove my email address. He laughed and told me it wasn’t his problem.

I thought I unsubscribed from QSLworld a few weeks ago, after getting several of their QSLs. Today, new e-mails with apologies & claims that these new e-mails aren't marketing e-mails. Then why the tracking links at the bottom of the e-mails (including unsubscribe links)??

@AA5UK I used an unsubscribe link in one of the e-mails, and went to a one-question survey page before the site said I was unsubscribed. For the other e-mails, the unsubscribe links took me directly to a page saying I was unsubscribed. I didn't take time to write a reply to the e-mails.

I don't know what format the AT-D890UV uses for its audio recordings. Icom likes WAV on its radios, like the ID-4100 I previously mentioned. Have to get that missing file installed, & hope that's all I need to get this working...

The AT-D890UV CPS software is used to pull the audio from the radio, except I saw an error when I tried to do this. Running on a Win11 Pro laptop, IIRC 25H2. This file isn't present on my laptop, guess I need to get it from somewhere.

Tried the recording function on my AT-D890UV during an ISS pass Tuesday evening. On the radio, I could see 48 files for that pass - similar to how some Icom radios record audio (i.e., ID-4100) - new file for each change from RX to TX & vice versa, maybe even with freq changes.
