@mgtruth The field after a black demonstration in my home village. We did it after school & tea, nights were drawing, it was a ‘last Saturday of August’ parade. It took us a week. So nothing new under the sun really, sadly
English

@mgtruth It an attitude if the bins are full, are not right beside them, then people just leave it behind. Unlike the Japanese who tidy up after themselves. Have you seen the detritus left behind at Glastonbury. 53 years ago for a couple of pounds we cleaned
English

I can’t understand why the OO don’t hand out bin bags as they’re going round.
To encourage people to pick up their litter.
Actively encourage them to pick it up.

Who was reared to leave a place like this? Absolutely disgusting! Any march, parade or protest against anything that leaves this behind should be banned forever from ANY further event!! Sin e 🤷🏼♂️
English

@cellah26bsky We noticed a change at Bergerac airport, they had a a booth open for EU/EEA/CH only, no real Queue, one for resident permits (ie us) no queue either and 2 for the rest of the Brits on the flight from Stansted, long slow queues. 😂

Spain begins Gibraltar airport checks as Brexit reaches the Rock ft.com/content/47f871…
English

@cellah26bsky To listen to some (mainly Reform) people, the world will end. Not that much different to what we do with Schengen (when the system works) at St Pancras/ Folkestone/ Dover, with reciprocal arrangements in Folkestone & Calais going the other way.
English

@pauldelaney2012 @Kscott_94 @gingirish @BelTel You might as well ask why do the British in GB have bonfires on 5th November? Tradition, though the NI ones are part of the 12th July parades/commemoration
English

Fire crews stretched tonight across greater Belfast.
At least five appliances have been deployed to the Village Bonfire in south Belfast after it collapsed in the direction of homes.
Fire crews, here now battling to cool nearby properties. @BelTel
Elsewhere, fire crews have attended the following bonfires:
Comber Road - Newtownards
Rathcoole
Sandy Row
Larne - Craigyhill
Love Lane - Carrickfergus
Whitehead
Tigers Bay
Fourtowns - Ballymena

@AndyOConnell3 @mikejdrew21 I know as much as you do in Carlisle! Irrespective of your own anti LD rhetoric the voters decided that they wanted him, not another Green Cllr.
English

@WGeorgeColvin @mikejdrew21 So what was the Lib Dem candidate offering that others didn't feel able to?
English
George Colvin retweetledi

@AndyOConnell3 @mikejdrew21 Yes, in this case, it’s one seat on a London Borough Council. So local issues predominate. Not that difficult to understand. It’s not a general election is it?
English

@WGeorgeColvin @mikejdrew21 So its simply a local issue. Lib Dems offer nothing nationally?
English

@AndyOConnell3 @mikejdrew21 If they didn't they wouldn't get elected and re-elected.
English

@mikejdrew21 @ElectionMapsUK So what unique national policies are you offering or are you saying the Lib Dems bring better local services than other parties?
English

@cellah26bsky Most villages towns are mixed (eg my hometown of Moneymore), some are more predominately Protestant (eg Moygashel) some predominately Catholic (eg Crossmaglen). The general rule therefore you have your days and we have ours and everybody gets on fine. max 6
English

@WGeorgeColvin @psni @ChiefConPSNI I don't think many people would mind if they were respectful & didn't impose on everybody else's life.
I listened about one today in a small town that they've made inclusive for all & fun.
English

So a truck has pulled up at the site of the #Moygashal bonfire with a full load of pallets this evening 🙄
I assume the @PSNI @ChiefConPSNI will be on site to check ownership of the pallets? No?
English

@cellah26bsky Doesn’t help she was an evil nasty woman for 40+ years. White Christian anti gay and woman’s rights. I’d as much sympathy as I would for Trump, Fartage or Lowe after his Dunblane comments dying.
English

Some of the comments under this are bizarre.... its as if a womans murder is of secondary importance to them....

🚨 BREAKING: The 26-year-old white British man arrested on suspicion of murdering Ann Widdecombe has been released He is no longer part of the investigation
English

@cellah26bsky 👀 looking for 26 White man? How can they know that? No details I heard yet. Wake up he’s been released all that sounds like incompetence. There’s so many Qs and her agent/Devon & Cornwall police both look foolish and incompetent.
English

@cellah26bsky The whole thing is bizarre, a 78 bizarre White British Women who happens to live on Dartmoor dies. How releases the info 1st, her agent says she’s dead and relesases press release! With scant or no information. The PC Plods arrive death is suspicious
English

@cellah26bsky @psni @ChiefConPSNI That one is quite far away, some on Belfast are far far closer to homes. But as Larne is about 90% prod, Sammy Wilson is their MP. They’ll ‘suffer’ for the cause. It’s a tradition going back for years and years, an 11th night bonfire before the big day.
English

@WGeorgeColvin @psni @ChiefConPSNI I can't imagine what it must be like for houses so close that have to be boarded up in this warm weather 🥵
English

@WGeorgeColvin @psni @ChiefConPSNI I remember earlier in the year a company/the owners of some pallets (they know by the colours) asked the PSNI to investigate the "theft" of their pallets, i never heard a follow up to request
English

@cellah26bsky @psni @ChiefConPSNI Therefore they are never traced or traceable, how voluntarily they are ‘donated’ is as you say open to debate but assume some businesses willingly gave them away as not reusable?
English

@cellah26bsky @psni @ChiefConPSNI Lots of wooden pallets go up in flames the 11th night all over Northern Ireland. Most bonfires are small affairs no effigies or flags, like my home village does every year. Some are far bigger than Moygashel’s, c they lit theirs early as PSNI were around
