True, good to see investment in data on a key womens health issue . But pls invest in data on #breastfeeding which lowers breast cancer risk by 30-40% if done for >12 mo., yet no good data since 2010! And invest in our unfunded national breastfeeding strategy to help mums do it!

The Infant Feeding Survey will ask mothers: ➡️ how they feed their babies ➡️ where they get advice on feeding ➡️ questions on their pregnancy & lifestyle If your baby was born in December, you may get invited to take part. Find out more or opt out at infantfeedingsurvey.ipsos.com/2023/

@JuliePSmith1 @1goodtern @DrTedros Formula feeding doesn’t “disrupt immune development”. Breast milk does transfer some antibodies from mother to baby, but they wear off after weaning. It’s exposure to “good” microbes like soil bacteria that strengthens the immune system, not exposure to disease pathogens

“The tool puts the power of data in the hands of policymakers, advocates, environmentalists, and (…) scientists, enabling them to evaluate the reduction in GHG emissions and water use by increased breastfeeding and reduced reliance on commercial milk formula” #GreenFeedingTool
