🚨New economic analysis warns: EchoStar/DISH defaults will trigger billions in losses - potentially raising wireless bills and slowing 5G buildout across the U.S. A $9B hit to wireless infrastructure doesn’t stop at the fiber or towers — it could hit consumers. 🔗wia.org/new-economic-a…

Companies should not be allowed to use an FCC license transaction as a get-out-of-contracts-free card. Nor is normal regulatory policymaking a "force majeure." But if that isn't enough to prompt you to read Evan's column, do so for the Mel Brooks references. . .

The Producers was meant as satire: making more from a flop than a hit. DISH Wireless made it a business model. With a $42 billion windfall pending, the company refuses to pay the workers who built its 5G network. FCC can help protect those workers. My oped in @InsideSourcesDC👇

Despite the real progress industry has made in wireless and broadband workforce development, current efforts alone will not meet the demand that is coming from billions in BEAD funds AND trillions in AI infrastructure investments. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act reauthorization is a genuine opportunity to change that through 1) state flexibility, 2) explicitly supporting Registered Apprenticeships and employer-led training, and 3) encouraging the sector partnership model. Watch WIA EVP & COO Tim House's testimony to @EdWorkforceCmte on how strengthening employer-led training can build an AI ready America. youtu.be/qVY09mmfraw?si…

Today, WIA EVP & COO Tim House, EVP & COO testified before Congress on what it will take to build an AI‑ready America. The message was clear: AI workforce training must be employer‑led. Thank you @EdWorkforceCmte for holding this important hearing.

❗️@RepFine and today's witness discussed how AI is evolving rapidly, and it's changing how we teach and learn. Employers understand these changes better than anyone—it's why we need to empower job creators to use AI to teach and upskill new workers fast and effectively.

Exciting news from WIA member @ericsson! The proof of concept integrates sensing and spatial location of passive objects into mobile networks, proving 5G technology’s ability to sense its surroundings using telecommunications infrastructure. Ericsson engineers showcased how network-based sensing supports use cases such as drone detection and airspace safety.

Great visit to @JMAwireless in Syracuse, NY this weekend. Seeing private wireless in action makes clear how powerful these systems can be, delivering secure, high-performance connectivity tailored to the specific needs of a college campus, manufacturer, hospital or venue. Private networks enable innovation from connected classrooms to public safety applications. Thank you to the CEO John Mezzalingua, his entire team, and @SyracuseU for the warm welcome and for showcasing how American companies are leading in next-generation wireless solutions that strengthen both our economy and communications infrastructure.

America’s wireless networks don’t build themselves. They’re built by thousands of infrastructure providers, communications service providers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and property owners who keep critical projects moving every day. The American Wireless Builders Coalition is calling for FCC action to protect infrastructure reliability, jobs, and the integrity of the Commission’s processes. 📌 Learn more (and follow the Coalition’s filings and updates) at wirelessbuilders.org
